All David Cage games with the exception of Omikron: The Nomad Soul have been even smaller in scope games than the average naughty dog ones.
They're about on par with the average TellTale game or Life is Strange game with just how limited they are. They have much higher production values, but there is not a whole lot to do in them. If Druckman wants to emulate David Cage this basically means the studio will be making much smaller games than they've done in the past, this possibly might mean a quicker turnaround which all things considered might be a good thing since Naughty Dog has developed a habit of being slow. But if they're going to put a heavy focus on story it's not going to help them in the long run, every other one of Sony's studios can do a decent story and marry it to engaging gameplay. If Druckman is going to toss out gameplay in favor of doing story, it's going to wind up having the same fate as Telltale games where there's no reason to play it and what gameplay systems exist are a farce.
With another studio now handling Uncharted it's certainly looking like the other IPs that Naughty Dog has worked on will find homes elsewhere. I would not be surprised if Jak gets announced to be in development by another studio.
