The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

That was fucking terrible. Bella Ramsey has to be one of the worst pieces of casting in television history. How the fuck do you get the casting so badly wrong for the main character of your tv show?
Ive seen a comment that "Pedro Pascal also doesnt look 1:1 with Joel but no one complains", sure, but from the little I saw, he can act. I dont want to blame the highly miscasted autist girl (since I got a highly autist brother, so I get its not easy to deal with), but she got no range, she barely acts. I can get that finding a 14 year old that look exactly like Ellie and is good at acting is hard, but for fuck sake, was she the only actress avaliable?

I mean, yes I cant blame the girl for not being normal, but ffs, just dont cast someone without range or acting as an actress.

Cuckmann's writing is nothing more than amateur fetish stories, he should've never had the chance to hit the mainstream market. I hope his next "game" will be the final nail in the coffin for him and Naughty Dog (and Sony too but that's asking a bit too much)
He didn't write the story,Bruce Straley did. In which he cast him out of Naughty Dog just like what he did to Amy henning during the production of Uncharted 4.

Everything I can find online says Cuckmann wrote TLoU part 2 and Uncharted 4, and I was mainly talking about these two since they're the games where the strong woman sticks it to the white man. Apparently he also wrote TLoU but Straley and Henning had a saying in it and they managed to keep the faggotry in check

So they didn't include the synagogue scene, I take it? I wonder how bitter a pill that was for Druckmann to have to take it out.
I honestly just envision getting him to change anything in the show is like dealing with a child who will happily starve themself and eat poison to get you in trouble just because of some minor rebuke you have. It's probably worse than pulling teeth, and you know based on how he handled his writing for the first game getting changed he'll probably remember and seethe about it forever.

He co-wrote TLoU 2 with a woman who worked on Westworld. On TLoU 1 he wrote the DLC that retconned Ellie as a lesbian.

i see media literacy faggots are re litigating this shit: maybe im a retard but what are the themes: besides cycle of violence, grief, humans are le real monster and revenge is le bad. whats so fucking deep about this fucking IP
Nothing that fucking NARUTO of all things didn't cover better.

At least the Orange Retard Ninja admitted that Sauske went full retard and needed the shit kicked out of him and decided the way to end the cycle of Revenge was to take care of his own people's bullshit before bitching out others.

I didn't say it was good, but it was not as bad yet. It's not as bad as say Maisie Williams turning into a 100% anglo goblin

Maisie would have been a much better casting choice given her body shape. And she's somehow less off-putting than the smooth-faced potato chick.
Let's not forget that Ellie wasn't the first immune person the Fireflies had found and killed.
No, the Surgeon's Recording explicitly mentions that everyone else they've checked out has elevated white blood cell counts from their bodies actively fighting off and containing the infection, whereas Ellie is the first and only person where the infection has just seemingly stopped progressing of its own accord. Naturally the geniuses they are decide to crack open her skull and rip out the entire infected mass around her brain to examine it instead of something less immediately fatal to her like extracting cranial fluid to run a test on or develop a fungal culture from so they can compare and contrast it with existing known strains.

And yes, its explicitly mentioned that they're just going to crack open her skull and hack at her brain to extract the fungal growths by the Firefly chick after Joel wakes up in the hospital, so the place being spotlessly clean isn't nearly as vital as you'd expect since they're shamelessly intending to kill her anyways. Can't have a post-op infection if the "patient" is dead.

It's also stupid because if it's the genetics that prevent her from dying, then how is it a cure and why does she need to be killed to get it? It'd make more sense to track her gene samples. And if it's the fungal growth and it being a new strain, then why did they not just get a sample that was less invasive? Like getting samples from her fucking olfactory bulb?

It was dumb no matter how Cuckman wants to cut it.

Honestly, it'd have been smarter for the Fireflies to just teach Ellie mycobiology and have her and the brains make an anti-fungal that targets it at the root. Or like, you know, have her be an egg donor and go hard on surrogates after you retconned her to being a lesbian.

There were a lot of options they could have done; it's just highlighting the surgery itself was probably going to fail anyway that makes it funnier.

Yeah, Joel was completely justified in killing them off no matter what since the whole plan anyways was doomed to failure despite her uniqueness, but Druckmann never let something like that stop him.

He's credited as the writer on TLOU 1.
He co-wrote it with Bruce Straley and others, who went uncredited.
Neils initial draft was a lot more focused on revenge. It's thanks to the other writers that the first game turned into a more personal adoptive-daughter-story.

If memory serves me correctly, the cordycep is acting symbiotic with Ellies brain, wrapped around her brain. A spinal tap would have given them enough information to work without killing Ellie.
It's another one of Druckmanns "if you sympathized with Joel, you're a monster!! I'm a smart writer" tricks.

Its been a while since I played TLoU, but IIRC you get bit, the infection travels via the blood to the cranium, where it proceeds to root into the brain and grow off it, and the damage as it grows is what causes people to turn into runners, and then a little while after that the fungus grows enough to turn them into clickers as it forces its way out of the head, fusing with/replacing the skin and bones. But for whatever reason when it comes to Ellie the fungus has grown around the exterior of her brain, but has stopped, leaving her permanently in that 48 hour post-infection but pre-symptomatic period.

And of course unlike the other people the Fireflies had found in that state, her body wasn't attacking the fungal infection to keep it from spreading. Its just there as a benign growth.

That...sounds like something weird with the growth..not Ellie and not something you could ever make a vaccine out of.

So instead of the regular infected having parasitic-like effects with the fungus, it's symbiotic on Ellie. All the more reason why a spinal tap would have given them more than enough. Or brain fluid.

Though let's be fair, if Druckmann was smart, he would have used this set-up so that the fungus would break out eventually and the player (as Joel) being forced to put her down. Much darker ending than Part 2 and much more in tone with the universe it's set in.

If they were hoping to preserve Ellie's brain to "reverse-engineer" the miracle drug that would fix everything in two more weeks, then yes, they needed a place to put that thing that was sterile and refrigerated. Because a brain that no longer has a living body is at some point, probably sooner than later, going to rot and render everything for fucking nothing.

Once again, it's easier to just call Druckman a fucking retard.
