The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I love Kojima’s Metal Gear insanity. But I could not get into Death Stranding
I think if Death Stranding was 50% action/adventure/combat and 50% package autism it would be a minor cult hit.

But Kojima is a stubborn ass and it's 99% delivery shit so it remains a niche game with a tiny audience.

I predict poor sales for DS2, a lot of people bought the first game because they didn't realize what it was, now everyone knows this is pretentious UPS sim.

The delivery shit is what killed the game for me. If you want to get any good action, you’ll be hours and hours into the game. I wish we could get a version of the game without all the delivery shit but all we would get is mostly cut scenes.

There's also like a ten hour stretch where all you deliver is pizzas, tampons, funko pops, crap like that. If you delivered something critical like medicine or scientific equipment or something like that you could tie it into the plot but it's all garbage.

I get that it's supposed to be "haha silly lmao" but the game otherwise has a really somber tone that the pizza delivery missions heavily clash with and not in a good way.

Just watched the final episode. It's actually the best one of the season, but highlights why this show isn't very good. Inconsistent characters, lots of tonal dissonance. It makes the game look spectacular in comparison.

Season 1 seemed like a type of reimagining of the first game. Other than hitting certain key plot points, there's a lot of differences. Season 2 is almost a 1:1, albeit condensed. Obviously this is Druckman huffing his own farts about how his magnum opus is so brilliant while painting himself as the sole creative visionary behind the TLOU franchise. The stuff that they do change in s02 make no sense and are an active detriment to the story and themes that Neil initially fellated himself over.

If they focused and had the same type of energy for the rest of the season that they did in the final episode, it could have been just alright instead of actively bad.

I actually don't think you could save this pile of shit without having this be a season that introduces Abby and has her gather a posse to murder Joel as the A plot. You'd have to actually stretch like shit and fabricate an interquel to even have a chance of patching this shit.

If she had about even screentime, that'd have likely done a lot in making it work, even if it still runs the issue of Pedro kacking it and losing the narrative heart of the original run.

Audience will side with the guys they know and follow, and Abby and co show up too early too soon to make people give a shit.

Death Stranding is the biggest proof that Kojima doesn't understand how two humans interact in conversation.

They're already putting the sandbags down for the wave of negative reviews when they're claiming that it's testing well with players and Kojima "doesn't want it to be successful." The first sold like egg farts and he was pulling a Naughty Dog before them with re-releasing it on PS5 and then PC.

Kojima "doesn't want it to be successful."
Ah the Neil Druckman gambit.

Based on what little I'd heard from them in the leadup to the release, I had assumed that was what they were going to do, specifically spending a few episodes developing Abby and letting her grow on the audience before the tee-off (pun intended). They specifically teased that they were making changes to the narrative structure, so when they actually killed him off in the second episode I laughed out loud.

The sheer amount of oblivious overconfidence would be admirable if they were capable of producing a decent show.

It's really a testament to what a hack fraud Druckman is.

TLOU2's entire story shows this in how the core elements are all shit, but then it also goes completely out of its way to make references to shit like the Holocaust (which the character talking about it is too young to know about it in a post-apocalypse world where education on such things wouldn't matter for the past 20 years)
That one seems especially suspect since in the first game, Ellie's skeptical of something as mundane as an ice-cream truck.

Wait, Cuckman was responsible for the last Uncharted game? I missed that. I didn't like that game, something felt off and Nate was a pushover for everyone after developing massive gaps in his IQ. Now I know who to blame.

Best thing about it is Warren Kole voice acting bad boy Rafe Adler, but damn, Kole always knows how to play those bad boys that get me good (see also: Phillip Graves from Call of Duty).

Not so sure about that. Orcs and orc-like races are considered black coded if you ask the tabletop RPG tard developers, so they will cast a black tard as an orc - if they even allow orcs in fantasy anymore.

I'm not interested in the show. What are the main differences between the show and the games, other than casting vegetables in leading roles?

Abby isn't a hulk because despite what Druckman says real women aren't build that way.

Ellie and bignose don't smoke le heckin weed together and talk about dyke shit anymore because it's the Asian cuck that's with Dina in that scene for some reason.

Right as the Joel in one is happening there's a completely pointless filler scene where Jackson gets attacked by zombies that's not in the game.

Jackson is a Communist commune now and I don't think it's described that way in the game but I could be wrong.

That's about it.

He's why Nate has a daughter and Nadine + the "Nate is bad for killing people" plot came from his feces.

He legit fired a tester who reacted negatively to Nate's kid being a girl.

"Ah fuck, they'll make her a lesbian aren't they?" -Playtester #13/50

This time Cuckmann can't just blame gamers for TLOU2 failing. As for the glaring differences in the show?

-Tess got an undignified death
-Sam is deaf or mute?
-Ellie's mom is played by Ellie's VA
-Joel's VA is righthandman of "christian" pedo leader David
-Entire episode focusing on gay romance

Season 2
-Therrapist exists and hates Joel
-Joel's death looks weird since Abbie's actress isn't roided up
-Bella Ramsey is gonna be a dad.

I know more differences but then it would be too long.
