The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

TLOU2 is apparently Zendaya's (from HBO's (I think) Euphoria, not the infamous VN game and hentai) favorite game:

Either she has really bad taste, or Drunkmann or Sony must have offered her something under the table to say this.
She's in the MCU Spider-Man movies, which is co-owned by Sony.

Except the course correction will literally never happen because the powers that be will literally just print money and give it to you for pushing the ideology further.
I'm going to have to somewhat disagree with you there. Rate me optimistic but I think we maybe seeing the tail end of this shit. The ESG money is about to dry up, ESG and DEI are about to go the way of the dodo and Larry the Rat Fink and his company are about to be investigated by congress leading to Larry Fink talking about wanting to "step back as CEO of BlackRock in order to spend time with the family". I.e, code speak for "Yeah, shit is about to hit the fan and its all my fault but I'm going leave before I suffer the consequences", just like the monorail salesman from The Simpsons.

For the longest time Sony refused to show the numbers that they had for TLoU2 because they didn't want to prove the detractors right. Now that the ESG money is gone they have to swallow their pride and admit "Yeah, the game sucked and didn't sell" and find a way to recoup their losses. There is also a reason why Sony has not given Neil Cuckmann any more projects nor have plans to make The Last of Us 3. They know that TLoU is a dead brand with gamers and will not sell. They will do what they can to recoup their loses with nostalgia that people have for the first game but I would be shocked if they release TLoU2 for PC. They would spend more money on the PC port then they would get money from it. Not to mention that Cuckmann will throw a massive fit seeing modders make Abby actually look like a woman and allowing gamers to shoot up the synagogue.

Yes, the numbers were hidden due to poor post launch sales even with enormous discounts, which plays a reason as to why Sony isn't pushing too hard for part 3. But I think the other even more relevant reason is that Cuckmann is terrible to work with and alienated all talent from ND. Don't forget, the leaks (that you can find ITT) were done to force Cuckmann to finally release 2. He was delaying it again (likely for multiplayer), which meant more crunch, more overtime and most relevantly, no release bonus. The employees (again as per leak) were waiting to get the bonus so they could finally dip from the toxic company that ND had become under Cuckmann. They felt so strongly about this, that they risked jail time by leaking the full game pre release. And in this case there was much more to leak than your average game, even the fact that the trailers straight up lied about the story as well as everything else of course. So it was very damaging to Sony et all, hence the title of the double-DMCA. And this leaker (likely a group) was indeed never caught, the game was indeed released right after the leak, the leaks were in fact completely accurate and hence the motivation was true as well.

So the brain drain followed, which is evidenced most easily by the fact that ND has produced nothing new since. The only new content they have even announced in the following 3 years (no I don't count Demakes that weren't even done by ND, they just jumped in last minute to add something to Cuckmann's name) is the Multiplayer which was worked on long before release of 2. But they can't even finish it, because no talent. So that's why Part 3 is a complete non starter IMO, even more so than the financials. Who will make it? You'd need new talent and Cuckmann would need to somehow both train and retain them.

Who will make it?
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they hemorrhaging so much talent that ND was pulling in movie VFX artists and animators to work on the game?

The problem with systematically pushing all the other major talent in a team away is that you have nobody else around to produce games lmao. Not like ND has made anything of quality in years anyway.

They outsourced art to TWELVE art studios not counting internal teams drafted in as support teams
One Pixel Brush, Original Force, The Studio of Secret 6, Lemon Sky Studios, Virtuos Holdings, Passion Republic, XAC Inc., Adia Entertainment, Mindwalk, Visual Dart Co., Redhot CG, MOOD
and outsourced more studios for sound, editing etc

Interesting choice of cross-promotion here. The fact that Abby won't be present is either to not spoil her in preparation of Season 2 of the HBO Show, or ND is trying their hardest to not use her in promotion material. (And there was still things such as the $1100 Abby statue mentioned a while back)

So wait, Universal is too good to actually use a better ride selection than LoU for this year's Halloween Horror Nights?

I wonder what shitty movie "game" Neil Cuckmann will make next so that Sonyponies will defend it?

Maybe it's because I never gave a fuck when it first dropped so I don't have the hype nostalgia, but after playing through the first game all I can say is: meh.

Pretty game and all, but that's it. The story wasn't particularly gripping or very original.amd the game play, again while pretty, didn't have much going for it.

Idk if this was a lot of people's first half decent story driven game or what, but I really don't get what the hype was ever about. Makes the shit show that 2 was even funnier to me. So many people were absolutely ass-blasted mad because they got overly invested in an above average movie game :story:

It's like how all the retards online coomed their pants over RDR2 even though it was just a bog standard "no redemption for the wicked, our way of life is over" rehash of the first game.

Doesn't excuse just how shit the 2nd game was/is, but I certainly have less sympathy for the people who got so fucking tilted. I was expecting this shit to be some sort of holy grail masterpiece and all I got was a 6/10 at best. At that's mostly because of the visuals.
