On a positive note, what got me me excited the most was Back 4 Blood, the Left 4 Dead games were pretty much the most fun I've had playing online and I've long been wanting a third game and this is close enough.

Hopefully it will be as meme worthy as the other games quotes like "GRABBIN' PILLS"

I'm a fan of the first game, 2 is a message aimed directly at guys like me, white male gamers who enjoyed the first game and empathized with Joel and that message is "you deserve to die"

So yeah, I'm mad, fuck Neal Druckmann and fuck The Last of Us 2.
Persuasive argument. You and a bunch of other people should get on Twitter and present this case to Cuckmann on Twitter, and include all the voice actors too so they know not to take part in such a smear campaign again. When everyone see what a very serious deal it is, you'll look completely legitimate.

Apparently it was lame? What a shock.

I wasted my evening watching my friend play Cyberpunk.

Was there a big retarded Kojima/MGS/Silent Hills announcement like people say there will be every year? I'm not seeing anything except lame shit and apparently Mass Effect still isn't dead? Oh and Perfect Dark is finally back?

I just......Daisuke Tsuji did so much for that damn game. Only to lose to that overrated overused woman. And her stupid game won the majority of awards like fuck off.

Who exactly did Naughty Dog and Laura and Neil suck off to get the awards? TLOU is not that great.

I would put the guy on ignore he's always contrarian to a staggering degree.

Though he probably genuinely sides with these lunatics considering how he gets very upset when people suggest that left wing ideology is off putting to people. Inb4 "IT MAKES MONEY DON'T YOU SEE IT MADE MONEY THIS ONE TIME DUE TO LEFT WING POLITICS, NOT BECAUSE OF BRAND RECOGNITION OR DECEPTION".
Putting people on ignore is for faggots.

That said, TLOU 2 winning that many awards was criminal but expected.

They didn't have to suck anyone off.

Sony and especially Naughty Dog are really trying to cement an image of being the artistic, movie video game company.

Journalists and other dipshits that decide these things are desperate for validation, so they're going to push the most "artistic" game to try and get the recognition.

My personal theory is that the "industry" is trying to push out Kojima as that guy because his games are too weird and still too video gamey, and we're going to see a push for Naughty Dog/Druckmann to replace him.

It won't work though cause Druckmann can't keep his fucking foot out of his mouth. Kojima, despite being a pretentious weirdo, doesn't manage to piss people off in that way.

Mass Effect is still definitely dead. That whole trailer reeked of "we're so sorry for fucking up two times in a row pls forgive us. Behold the return of blue waifu!"

Shameless fanservice, and unfortunately fanboys are believing the hype as they've already posted it on YT and the comments are full of nothing but blind faggotry.

Now that message has been wholly condoned and applauded by the Game Awards.
For consolation,
A. The people giving the awards out now are likely not the same people who used to do it in the past. They are only the same in name. It's more like "SJW Awards" buying the rights to the term "Game of the Year" lol.
B. Just because they say it's the game of the year doesn't make it that. Who can make such a claim anyway? The best it can legitimately call itself is the "Game of the year award winner".

On a side note, is Game of the year a protected/registered trademark? If so that'd be pretty infuriating, but wouldn't be the first time people try to own normal words/phrases. Remember the "cocky" drama. Imo they shouldn't legally have the right to claim that they are somehow an authority on determining what the "game of the year" is. I'm probably wrong, but on the off chance I'm not, someone could just make another game of the year award show thats actually good.

I'm still mad
I will always be mad.
On my death bed I will be mad.
When the seas heat up and the world falls into global catastrophe I will still be f***ing mad.
In the afterlife, when I get to the gates of Heaven, St. Peter and his angels will ask me "Are you still mad about ME3?" My answer will be yes.
When the race of man is no more and the ruins of man's cities have crumbled into dust, I will still be mad.
Ancient alien civilizations will find the smoldering, volcanic corpse of planet Earth and decode the secrets of the ancient "internet" and they will find this post and so my eternal anger will be brought forth into the far-flung reaches of outer space.
When the last tiny flash of heat in the universe dies and all descends into entropy, my hatred will remain.

I'm still so f***ing mad I took the time to write this stupid f***ing post and I'm not the slightest bit less mad. I f***ing hate you Bioware.

Memes aside, I will never forgive the ME3 ending, no matter what they do. Never. UNTIL THEY FUCKING FIX IT!

Edit: In hindsight, ME3 ending might be what really "woke me up" in a way. Kinda coincides with the point in time I stopped being able of looking forward to anything in media. Like there was some kind of unspoken bond of trust between the creatives and the consumers. The consumers would look forward and pay, and the creatives would do their best to make the consumers happy, being mindful of the fact that the fans loved their thing and got emotionally invested and wanted a satisfying payoff. ME3 took years of buildup, anticipation, goodwill, love and trust from the gaming community and took a massive fucking shit on it. In a way they quite possibly killed the innocence of gaming as a whole and made cynicism something gamers have to have in order to protect themselves from another massive disappointment like that. They deserve to be hated for that alone.

I was gonna rate you MOTI but I relate too much to do you like that, unfortunately.

I only care about Smash Bros., Reggie, and BOTW2.

Though I also like Dorito Pope. He's quaint. When does he start reenacting sex scenes from Cyberpunk with Kojima? And when will he do his Wii tennis rematch with Reggie?
I like him too, he's weirdly charming.

Part of it is simply 2000s nostalgia, is he the last man standing for 2000s era gaming journalism? How many gaming journalist figures from the 2000s are still relevant today?

It's hilarious that people think they aren't going to find a way to fuck it up again.

It's still proof that a not insignificant group of people within the wider gaming culture don't want someone like me to be here.

Maybe it's not enough to ruin everything, but knowing this segment is there when they didn't use to be casts a cloud over gaming as a whole, things just ain't like they used to be.

The Mass Effect subreddit already has a hype thread pinned. I was the only one to admit skepticism and got downvoted to oblivion. Kinda cringe, I know, but I think the problem is that the gaming community at its core is fundamentally different from how it was even a decade ago. Standards have lowered so much as to what's considered a good RPG that promising even the bare minimum yields a legion of pre-orders and an army of fanboys willing to suck devs' dicks over every little thing. Take Cyberpunk2077 for example. Offer just a crumb of fanservice and suddenly it's GOTY material, no matter if the game is actually good or not.

Hype culture is essentially gamer AIDs. What's the point in hyping yourself up to be met with disappointment when you could be pleasantly surprised?

Anyway, Bioware as a studio will probably shutter before they even manage to shit the next ME game out and if they do, I consider it a blessing.

That long textblock is a copypasta lol, but imo it works on its own too.

Watched the trailer now. So Liara is old now? Maybe that's just me, but I couldn't give a shit about a granny Liara. I enjoyed Liara because she was hot and I wanted to digitally bang her. Do they seriously believe players cared about Liara's personality so much that an unfuckable granny/middle-aged Liara will be interesting? And worse, are they correct? Again, might just be me but I feel the same way about Leia in the sequels. Leia was neat because she was kinda hot in the original movies. I don't care about her as a person, I don't need to see her at old age.

Sometimes I wonder if the NPC meme is true and 95% of people will just gobble up and praise literally anything as long as a person they see as authority tells them that's what they should do. And the reason they make the games/movies shitty is just to piss off the few real people who were looking forward to them and actually had standards.

Yeah, Old Liara is what I'm guessing. I'm putting my money down on about 300 years after the great Destroy McGuffin.

Only thing that piped my interest was that Housemarque game and "Not Dead Space." Evil Dead might also be fun because I'm a fan of the series / movies.

The autistic reaction of the Silent Hill fanbase after getting fucked by "insiders" again was better than the entire event.

I mean Asari age very slowly. The ugliest we see in the original trilogy (not counting the ones turned into husks) are a 6/10.

Anyways Im just gonna wait and see. Hope for the best... expect the worst
