I assumed it was the usual bullshit side content released as novel/audio book for Japs only. Not that it was very important, being generic morally grey conflict that Rean somehow managed to pass literally without killing anyone.
 
Finally im back to my pc. Ill give my CS2 report tomorrow and start playing CS3, will play it with the english dub just to see how it goes. Any advice for CS3?

Delay has been nerfed, but can still be exploited and is broken under certain conditions. Make use of brave orders, they're even more ridiculous.
This is Falcom's game design philosophy - nerf something that was broken before, only to introduce something more broken.
Altina's field attack is a guaranteed KO.

Hows the Arts in CS3? I wanted to play more with arts this time around.

So the story felt better to play that CS1 but i can let it pass because CS1 is an introduction so it tends to be slow. The Divine Knight battles are the highlight for me although basically a guessing game, it just hits my dopamine receptors since i like mechs. Combat is as fun as ever although somehow i made it to the end without changing my set up this time around. Going around recruiting students and improving the ship is a nice incentive to play since youre working towards something. Also the students having their own little stories was nice(personally i didnt care for them, but is a welcomed addition) Seeing Rean achieve spirit unification(broken ability) was kinda hype but i feel it was made just to get Rean out of there rather than serve a purpose at the moment. Glad to see Emma gets more exposure to her backstory because she was shady as fuck in the first game. Crow being a fold to Rean was nice and serve as a milestone for Rean to achieve so it makes the first ass whooping's that Crow gave Rean natural in order to reinforce Rean that he should be kicking Crows ass. Maybe I'm in the minority but i liked that they brought back the chest messages even if they are limited to the trial chests. Seeing the events of Azure happen in the background and how it progressed from the perspective of Erebonia was nice and gave the world a more organic feel, like events keep happening even if you aren't around.

Honestly i feel the bosses this time around didnt give me any sort of real challenge that would make me re arrange my set up in any meaningful way. Mcburn(Mcflurry) which i thought would be super hard considering how strong he is, he wasn't that much of a threat, then again maybe the nigger was holding back so who knows. I think this is the first Trails game where i reach the end without changing my team or set up:

Rean: double gladiator and spamming spirit combination
Gaius: evasion crit
Elliot: healer/seraphic ring spammer
Emma: full magic dps/ magic reflector
Reserve:
Laura: full dps
Alisa: hybrid dps and healer

This never changed even with Loa Luciferia(Shit version or Loa Erebonius)

Now the only boss that caught me off guard, mostly on the party composition, was Vermillion Calamity because of dividing the group in 2 but i made it through because i had the foresight of leveling everyone and gearing them, due to the trial chests. You may be asking, bro what about the cryptids? well i kinda forgot they existed because i got lost in the story. They probably would have given me a challenge and would have changed this part, but alas they are relegated for when i attempt 100% completion. Divine Knight bosses might as well be free since you have spirit and Charge so in theory you should never lose a fight as long as you aren't completely retarded. Also Overdrive is worse than Burst from Azure.

This where shit got real. The back to back action and plot twists kept me in my seat until early hours of the morning. Seeing my nigga Crow die really hit me because he's the Randy of CS and all my homies like Randy. The moment he died, the first thing i thought was that he achieved peace after getting his revenge, then OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE THE BITCH ASS OSBORNE just casually appears and my first thought was " DID CROW JUST FUCKING DIED FOR NOTHING!?" which Rean promptly told Osborne so i was glad to see the game voice my frustrations. Osborne being Rean biological dad was something i didnt see coming and i wonder how the games will treat that going forward, just know that if given the choice i will shoot Osborne. So after that rollercoaster i thought i would get a cutscene and the credits, instead the game decided to grab my balls harder. Seeing my nigga Lloyd and Rixia in 3d was weird but playing as them was cool and they even had some of the abilities they would have by the end of Azure so that was a nice touch, also Lloyd having a Glad belt was funny to me. Funny enough i think the crossbell dungeon might be the most "complex" dungeon in the game which it isnt saying much since Trails sucks at dungeon design imo. Meeting Rean at the end of the dungeon i though i was gonna fight Lloyd as Rean, but the game made a 180 and now i was fighting Rean which prompted the thought of " Am i the bad guy?". Something cool that i would like them to do is the whole dynamic between Rean and Lloyd, since they are basically younger Arios and Guy in that respect(hopefully they don't attempt to kill each other). So after that i thought i would get the credits and fuck off to sleep, instead i get the last free day and the fucking Reverie Corridor. Its a cool dungeon that serves as a catch up for characters and a great place to grind and level up, so there isnt any excuse. Bosses were a joke and for a split second i thought i was in Persona 3 doing the tower. Loa Luciferia was just a worse version of Erebonius which makes sense lore wise but still pretty underwhelming.

Crow died, that i can accept, hell i wanted the game to get more serious with the stakes and consequences. That said Osborne who got shot in the chest just randomly spawned back to life and even Arianrhod which should be dead is still alive. I would lose my fucking shit if they bring back Crow because that would basically null all of his character in the game. They did something similar with FF7R and i was just as pissed because Zack is my favorite FF7 character so him surviving because of multiverse bullshit rubbed me the wrong way.

Now Onward... Relentlessly without looking back towards Cold Steel 3.

I'm curious; did you also find the finale of CS2 really confusing? All of a sudden, Rean is the only one staying behind and all his classmates are leaving. They just talk about it out of nowhere and it left me wondering if I just missed something.

The fact that there's a line going "It's good that the war ended with no casualties" mintues after we're shown Rean cutting and exploding Calvardian airships, lmao. It's like Falcom doesn't have the balls to make Rean a grey character, he has to be the series' special good boy who does no wrong.

I said this before, but Rean's obsession with Crow comes out of nowhere, it's even funnier that Rean thinks he can force Crow to come back and graduate, despite being a wanted terrorist.

The ending felt rushed, like they just skipped right to the end, skipped over the events of Nothern war just wanted to finish. They didnt even gave C a proper burial. Felt weird seeing everyone out of the blue just leaving. Special classes to advance my ass, they just wanted to get them out of the way to make way for CS3. Personally the only good thing i truly enjoyed of the ending is the Crossbell section. I dont have the complete picture but i feel Rean would have PTSD from participating in the nothern war. I hope they can male him a more mature character instead of the good boy that he claims to be despite all the murdee he has committed.
 
I really hated the final part with the game blueballing you with bosses only for someone else to take them on while Rean's team advances. At this point just have the other guys deal with the rebellion for the team since obviously we're a small fish in a big pond. Falcom loves this trope way too much and eventually it just gets annoying, I get the devs want to save those guys for the later or a sequel, but let me at least feel powerful.
 
Class VII definitely feels extremely underpowered at the Infernal Castle. I get McBurn, but having to be bailed out against fucking Bleublanc of all people?

The game looks prettier and i like the new design for Rean. Feels weird to see him as a teacher, but lets see how that helps his character grow. Also female Lloyd is cool.





I dont know if Trails has brainrotted me but now everytime i hear "barrier" or "Obstacle" i just hear Lloyd and Get over the barrier playing.
 
Lloyd and Barriers is a huge meme within the fanbase.
Also, I don't know if you'll feel this way with the new members of new Class VII, but they really do feel like retcon characters - you know, "they totally existed before now all along, trust us" sorta characters.

Oh i know its a meme, but it has spilled into irl. I like Juna and her racism against erebonians is welcomed. Kurt does fit what you said, since i dont remember Kurt existing in any shape before this. The black rabbit does feel like a "reference" character that only exists to reference past events. That said i do like them mechanically since atleast for me:

Juna:Tank/Breaker
Kurt: Neo Gaius
Black rabbit: support/ magic dps

Also whoever decided to make bosses heal mid fight and the whole break bar system can go suck a dick. On the plus side i welcome Orders into my life because i get the feeling that they will break combat and i feel thats their intention.

You don't even really need damage reduction TBH.

Juna + Kurt brave orders can break the game on their own, and you get them early into the game, too. It helps make up for the fact that bosses can infinitely stall you out if you don't burst them down.
