I'm hoping not. I think Andrew Dice is a Carpe Fulgur lolcow. That terrible group is half the reason it took so damn long to translate Sky SC. In what seems like a consistent occurrence with "freelancers" or kickstarters, Carpe Fulgur ran into "health problems" during translation which was really just the lead having the sadbrains for reasons and getting a Kotaku article full of asspats out of the deal.

I wish I could fuck around like that and still be able to find work afterwards.

Is it too much to hope for a Crossbell arc localization one day? They could sell it and just slap the fan translation on it, I wouldn't even mind.

There's weird shit going on with NIS/NISA apparently NIS is in deep shit but NISA is fine. They might be bought out by a larger company like what happened to Atlus.

If Nintendo buys them out then it's RIP for Falcom because all those games encroach upon Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Xenoblade. Nintendo doesn't like competing franchises especially in stuff that it owns, that's why F-Zero died because it was competing with mario Kart, that's why they never held onto Banjo kazooie because it was competing with Mario, they also killed 2D metroid because again Mario.

Then again it's looking like the next studio to be on nintendo's chopping block is Gamefreak. So Maybe NIS will be purchased by some company like Sony or Sega.

From what I understand, the localization would be more complicated than most due to the fact that they'd probably want to bring over the EVO versions, and they would be a licensing nightmare because Falcom outsourced the music and voice acting and the localizer would have to secure deals with them as well as Falcom, which would be prohibitively expensive. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but that's the excuse that I've read on a number of occasions. Hopefully if Cold Steel 3 is successful there will be enough demand to justify it considering that a lot of CS3's plot hinges on Crossbell.

If you haven't played them yet, you should. The fan translations are rough, but they are absolutely incredible games (especially Ao).

My biggest fear is NISA being impacted if NIS folds/gets bought out. They have been incredible over the last couple years.

From what I understand all the games licensed to X-Seed run out in 2020 which gives them back to Falcom to do with as they please. They will probably then re-release TITS and the other games and give them physical copies on the PS4 or PS5.

I have the PSP CE of TITS but since the other two games are digital only I didn't buy them hoping for a physical compilation. There's a slim chance that X-Seed will do a physical release of the Trilogy as their last Falcom release ever, but if they were planning it it would have already been revealed by now.

The one with the nun cleric girl with pink hair, we never got her did we

Isn't that Trails in the Sky 3? That one is on Steam.

Xseed aren't gonna save the day. They're dead in the water these days pumping out titty junk like Senran Kagura and PC only stuff nobody cares about.

I do hope we get the Crossbell stuff officially. NISA or whoever could just buy the fan translate scripts and do some polishing. I'm pretty sure that's what Xseed did with Oath in Felghana.

Resetera hates Cold Steel. They're already doxing Falcom employees over it.

This is Dragon Slayer, correct? I loved Legacy of the Wizard and rented it all the time as a kid. Wasn't the first game sort of like Rogue? A bit strange and frustating but I still played it a lot. Stupid skeletons!

Is Faxanadu part of the same series?

I have one of the PSP games but my battery died and it's all in storage right now. I did purchase one of the games on Steam. Maybe two of them. I can't remember. But my PC died back in February and I cannot get internet on my laptop at this time. I'd have to take it somewhere with free wifi to download my Steam library.

So I imagine its best to start with the first one?

By "first one" I assume you're talking about Cold Steel 1 and not Sky FC. Regardless, yes. NISA is trying to convince people that you can start with Cold Steel 3, but it's marketing bullshit. I'm not even trying to gatekeep, I just want people to have the best possible experience with these games, and you are going to enjoy 3 infinitely more if you have played the previous games.

There isn't really any reason not to start with the FC

Cold Steel references it quite abit and its not like you'll be seeing the fourth game of CS anytime soon. May as well not blueball yourself right off the bat.
