Again, the reasoning you cannot learn a foreign language unless it is absolutely used in the context of business work/living overseas is the most stupid normalfag thing to say. And just because the average consumer may not give a shit (or is simply not aware too) about the accuracy of a translation do not make entire rewrites, inserting memes, and even censorship a right thing either. This is not respecting the medium whatsoever. You exactly sound like the shitty translators throwing a hissy fit when they face criticism by claiming that "who cares as long as it's understandable" and other ad populum fallacies to pretend that kind of ethic work is acceptable.
And JRPGs are games where the story and characters do actually matter a lot. There are people who want to play those games as the creators originally intended, not some "extra flavored" fanfiction from the mongoloid in charge of translating who clearly doesn't care about the job and medium he works for. It's a sad and unfortunate reality to learn a foreign language in order to escape western game translators who are sharing many similarities with game journalists now.
