Vegas Pro on Windows
Honestly, out of all the video editors on Windows I find Premiere Pro to work the best funnily enough. Resolve is okay-ish, but I did have issues trying to render clips with it. Vegas Pro has an annoying export system where if you want to render something non-standard you have to make a new preset, and Premiere Pro just works. And no matter which FOSS editor I tried to use, they all sucked even more, so no wonder people prefer Resolve on Linux. No I haven't tried using Blender for video editing.
vim makes me more productive
Vim has a natural learning curve, that once you overcome, you'll instinctively try to do Vim keybinds in software that doesn't use them since your brain will adjust to the Vim way of things. I even installed Vimium in my browser and developed the muscle memory for navigating websites with that. Nano is good as it's basically the Notepad/EDIT of Linux, something that edits text and is easy to use. Vim is good if you're willing to learn a new muscle memory, and then with practice and a bit of reading of Practical Vim you'll find it's text editing workflow indispensable. The dot command alone is a complete game changer. It's not that it makes you more productive, it's that with the right knowledge and mindset you'll be doing text edits faster.

There's a reason Emacs people use evil. Even they can't deny the mnemonic keybind system is superior for text editing than the Escape Meta Alt Control Shift clusterfuck.

I use Evil Mode in Doom Emacs because I'm too lazy to learn another paradigm to edit text. That said, C-[whatever], M-[whatever] is still insanely useful if you're unable to exactly remember a keybinding and you need to sync up your Org Roam notes. Doom Emacs has a ton of cool ass shit in it, but sometimes, a bog standard Emacs keybind like "M-x org-roam-db-sync" is a lot easier to work out than the obtuse keybindings that Doom Emacs innately uses.

It’s not the most annoying thing in the world, favouriting them saves the preset and it’s a one and done deal. I’ve just been so used to Vegas that I just cannot use a different editing program. Its shortcuts are intertwined with my muscle and its memory.

I will not use nano for basic text editing, I need a mouse for more advanced text editing so I’ll resort to Gnome text editor or something like it. The regular text shortcuts such as Ctrl+(Shift)+Backspace are a necessity for me along with text highlighting with the mouse.

just saw this video by a random autist. He actually does a pretty decent job explaining the different bits and pieces of gentoo.

Welcome home, brother.

Can't wait to hear when you start fiddling with the wonderful world of DX9 gaming. All the titles you would be lucky to get a launcher to start up for, yet never actually play some 10-15 years ago now run flawelessly... unless you're using Wayland, where AAA games of yesteryear like the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy, Assassin's Creed 1, the Devil May Cry HD Collection, Morrowind, Oblivion, and so on have odd breakages under GE-Proton and Valve Proton, but not wine-staging... and even if they don't necessarily have "breakages," the launchers and intro FMVs won't bloody work unless you're using X11. But don't you dare tell any Wayland or compositor developers that, otherwise they'll be going USECASESOYJAK.jpg, WONTFIX/NOTABUG your reports, and deem you an undesirable Nazi chud who should die... but still totally donate to perpetuate the future of Wayland, GNOME Shell, Plasma 6, and so on.
I can say that in my 900 hours on GTA V ive NEVER played gta V on anything but linux. ive never played it on windows, xbox or playstation. Ive 100% the entire game done all the side quests and gold starred everything. Same with fallout 4 ive never played it on anything besides linux and doom eternal doom 2016, counter strike source, fallout 3, new vegas, Gta IV, Cyberpunk 2077, Far cry 4, Halo Infinite, a lot more im forgetting.

Sometimes you have to rip off the bandiad and I welcome that person to the world of Linux gaming.

Gotta make like Linux-libre and wash all the nigger off.

I still can't work out if Firefox just got worse over time or if the niggification of websites has resulted in every single click being a request for 2500 services.

At least with KF I know it's slow because it's hosted by a justifiably paranoid schizo who needs to host it in a place with no extradition treaties, but even basic text websites load like shit.
