This is why I still pity Chris and keep holding on to the hope that somehow, someway he realizes how shittily he's been living his life, musters up whatever shred of dignity he thinks he still has left, and goes off to join a group home for autistic adults. That is seriously the only way he could ever break out of his isolation and maybe regain the social skills he lost when high school ended. He'd be accepted for he is and be with his own kind. But nope, he's just gonna sit around all day whining and bawwing and considering any attractive female who so much as glances at him to be his sweetheart.

Yeah, it's pretty sad, but I don't think it's necessarily because he's a shut-in. It's a pretty common delusion, at least among guys, that the bartista / waitress / whatever is really interested in them because she's nice to them. I call it "the-stripper-really-likes-me" syndrome, and Chri­s-Chan has it in spades. But then, Chris is a perfect storm of early-21st century delusions. Hell, I'd hesitate to list them all.

It boils down to Chris never having had a job. If he had a job he would have a group of people around him every day. Many of these people would tolerate him. Their motivations would almost all be pity, amusement, workplace harmony etc. But Chris seems to be happy with that.

Nah, they're all windows to hell, remember? He'd never associate with them. That's why I honestly can't feel bad for him at all. His laundry list of hateful, divisive beliefs are a big part of the reason he's so isolated. He could've found other autistic folks that would understand the struggles he has with socializing, but no, he's an ablist douchebag that hates every cognitively impaired person that isn't him. His tomgirl bullshit could maybe get him in good with groups based on alternative sexualities, but no, he's a sexist, homophobic creep. He could always find a few guys to hang out with, but no, all males are JERKS or HOMOS that need to stop existing. Some people might think Watermelon's an exception to that, but the barbs Chris had directed at him over the past few months contradict that, I think. You ONLY make it into Chris' circle if you're a 20-something white girl, he's roped himself off from every other demographic. I can't feel bad for someone like that.
