The trans allegory thing was a clickbait thing that was debunked by the watchoskis themselves in quite a few interviews AFTER they trooned out, but now that they now changed the narrative and claim it was indeed always a trans allegory, the 4th film will definitely be their way of turning into trannyshit in a way similar to what Homestuck 2 was going to do with John but on a big budget unstoppable scale. Well, that, and the fact the watchowskis actually had the spine to say "no" before greed took hold. The matrix sequels are sloppy but they were clearly trying to tell a story that was set up by the first, and that story ended in 3. The only place you can go from there is the same kind of bullshit some clickbait articles made about it like "OH THE WORLD OUTSIDE THE SIMULATION IS ANOTHER SIMULATION!!!" I know EXACTLY what the plot of Matrix 4 is going to be before it even comes out what it is and that fucking scares me. Well, less scares me in a "fear" sense but more a "holy shit these people function like actual robots" type stuff.

Tough call, but I'm going to say this. Outside of the original movie and some of Animatrix, Matrix never really lived up to the potential of the idea and suffered a GoT style of the fanbase being beat into "stop giving a fuck about the brand" once the trilogy concluded.

I just feel like there is no gold to mine here.

I mean, at least Ghostbusters Afterlife has it's heart in the right place. It's clear that the director wants to make a good movie that is a good follow up and a tribute to the original. That's more than what could be said for Matrix 4 which is clearly just a cash grab.

The first Matrix movie is still baller. I still love that movie. And, here's the thing: The first movie actually has plenty of closure. Sequels were never needed in the first place. The ending to the first Matrix movie was pretty much perfect.

I gotta say, John Wick is starting to get too "Fast and Furiousy" for my taste. By the 2nd one it was more or less okay, by the 3rd one the plot is too outlandish for my taste, and when the announced a fourth one, I went "ehhhhh okay."

My takes:

-The first John Wick is fucking amazing, from start to finish. This movie has the strongest story and most emotional moments.

-2 is really good, with a "holy shit!" cliffhanger; easily one of my favorite movie endings of the 2010's.

-3 started off exactly as I wanted as a followup to 2's amazing ending. Once Halle Berry's really cool and badass character leaves, though, the movie doesn't quite live up to its own first half but is still really entertaining and fun.

I can easily see 4 becoming a "Jump the Shark" moment in the series, but I have enjoyed all of the John Wick movies a lot so far. They have a much better track record than the Matrix movies.

This next Matrix movie would have literally been a better allegory if it was speaking out against "big pharma." (Why the fuck does it matter which pill you take when Morpheus asks you? You're still being forced to take a pill designed for profit by a corporation that doesn't give a shit about you... lol)

I will be severely disappointed if Matrix 4 does not contain at least one character who is physically male in the real world but female in the Matrix. Or maybe even switching around every time they plug in.

anyone with a brain knows this plot will be about taking back the memes from the alt-right. black protag and everything, they won't even have it still be set in 1999, instead it will take place in the present with some shitty explanation because the type of people into watching it are braindead enough to not call bullshit
