The Mining Pit

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
You said that modern browsers don't duplicate for tabs.

Would an ancient piece-of-shit browser do so though?

I run Malwarebytes and had to add several exclusions for coin-hive.

There may be others, but I haven't gotten any more notifications from the program after this.
Been a while since I've used Mwb, doesn't it allow for wildcards such as asterisks? So you can simply use:

"*.coin-hive.com"

Instead of adding multiple variants?

I wasn't aware, it may work though.

A lot of people want to donate to the forum but cannot. I have a terrorist who spends every waking hour of every day trying to find a way to close this website, and his fetish is trying to make the function of collecting money for the Kiwi Farms a very difficult thing. This is a pretty easy thing to do; financial processing entities are the most regulated entity in the known universe.

A lot of people who want to donate to the forum but cannot also refuse to use Bitcoin. Just absolutely refuse. I have an option for sending cash by mail, but that requires effort and postage, so most people just choose not to donate at all.

So, there is an concept of mining bitcoin by browser. Right now, you're mining for me. This is not something that anyone can interrupt. It's a system as strong as Bitcoin itself. By using the site, you're delegating a certain percentage of your processor to the Kiwi Farms without knowing it. The miner stays idle about 75% of the time, which severely undercuts how much I could be making, but it keeps the pages loading quickly and it doesn't hog your resources on your computer.

If you're running an AdBlocker, chances are you're blocking the miner. That's fine. I won't hold it against you.

The rate of payment is 0.000148 XMR per 1M hashes. Since setting up the miner about 30 minutes ago in the dead of night, the forum has already mined 3M hashes. At the current rate of exchange, that is $0.01 USD. A penny every ten minutes, 6 pennies an hour, $1.44 a day, and $43.2 a month. That's at the current rate, which will probably go way up during mid day. I could mine more, but again, that means demanding more from the forum users and potentially disrupting their computers. At the current throttle %, this is a respectable amount of income.

A lot of websites which have implemented this system have had an uproar about it because it is a bit malicious. I'm just letting everyone know now.
I'll disable my adblock only for you Null.

Honestly, I appreciate the openness this was approached with. This was handled well.
I'm not noticing any really appreciable difference in speed, so I don't know what people are bellyaching about, but if it helps pay the bills, I'm cool with it.
We should find a way to turn it up higher and use more processing power for cows who come in here to sperg for hours at a time, like Autphag. If he's gonna freak out in the thread for 6 hours, we may as well monetize the little fucker.

That sounds like a bargain! I get to financially support the website I love while not having to deal with any annoying or obtrusive ads. Thanks Null!!!

I've whitelisted it on my Adblocker as well now thanks to this handy exchange. I appreciate Null not holding it against anybody who wants to use Adblocker but I think it's only fair if we at least promote the idea of whitelisting Kiwifarms.net in their AdBlocker settings.

Adnausem as of this moment cannot or does not seem to detect it. ATM, I've allowed it on this site, so for when I come through on long browses on my Pc, I'll be able to support. Thanks, Null-boy.

If you run a modern Chrome or Firefox, multiple tabs in incognito mode can't communicate with eachother, so you could stack that shit up.
It wouldn't be tracked to your account if you don't log in to each session individually though, if in the future Nully decides to add c00l badges for dedicated miners.

@Null Sorry if I'm being stupid and it's somewhere obvious, but I couldn't find it, any ETA on when XF2 is getting released?
I have plenty of autistic edits I need to make to the DSP article (it reads like ED without proper sources, while including a few false claims) and I can't because my account is only 9 months old. :(
