The Mining Pit

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Sorry, it's Other:Malware-gen(trj). I just white listed since I know what it is here

Avast is picking this one up. Usually it's AVG that finds these false positives hence why I wont use it. Nothing else is giving me any warning.

Avast started pitching a fit, here's the details it showed me.

Working on a guide for adding Avast exceptions as well.
I've only got the one for AVG ready at the moment.
Someone is sending false reports on the miner.
Settings -> Components -> Customize 'Web Shield' -> Exclusions -> Add 'https://kiwifarms.net/js/Jawsh/*'

Make sure it's https, not just http, or you'll spend three minutes furiously shift-F5ing and wondering why it won't work. Like me.

Edit - https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php for anyone affected

If it keeps redditors away that's not really a minus. I'd suggest a more thorough explanation including how to turn it off, or down, or up, when someone signs up for an account, though.

How much would something like a dedicated Raspberry Pi doing nothing but mining Monero generate? Could this possibly be more efficient than jacking 30% of random visitor CPU?

Would be insignificant. Someone is donating to me a massive mining rig specifically for the purpose of creating crypto. It will mine about 4400hps. The site averages between 14000 ~ 25000hps.

I think we are approaching this from the wrong angle.

I don't live that far from a certain person. The same price as a true and honest status would cover my expenses for popping round a twatting the cunt with a cricket bat.

(BTW, this is a joke you litigious pedophile)

You'd be surprised how frequently I hear this sentiment. How many truly sick fuckers I've had to peel back from the edge to save that dumpy tard. Smh.

Things like this may be the salvation of the site. You should probably do some analysis, though. It's possible there are super cheap rigs that people could get that would mine more than they cost, to the point that the donation would be completely unstoppable, and it would just be something super simple to buy, get shipped to you, hook it up to your wireless router, type a single command line with apt or whatever, and execute a command and then shove it under your bed as a mini space heater during the winter.

It's actually going into a cabinet I've rented for the VPS company. I'll have plenty of space for the DC to store all sorts of weird shit.

This seems to be something where it could both be fun and profitable to get people in on it. Either by actually doing it themselves, or by pooling resources to do mining. Conceivably, we could pioneer methods of collaborative/pooled mining to fund community activities that, for whatever reason, are so despised by society at large, or at least a minority of actual terrorists, that it's impossible to fund them through banks or other such entities.

I'm not sure if most of the people reading this thread realize the site is actually going to fucking die if funding goes away.

Do you like shitposting here? If you do, you'll figure out crypto.
