Shai's actually a pretty good watch when they're not giving him a million foul calls for nothing.
He's one of the most skilled players I've ever seen. Arm hooking you to foul him while he goes for a left-handed jumper?

I'm not sure how the NBA can even fix this. When refs tighten up the whistle he gets tons of FTAs. When they loosen the whistle his arm hooks turn into violent push-offs.

The only thing I can imagine working is enforcing technical fouls for flopping/exaggerating contact. Or making it an offensive foul any time the offensive player clearly initiates contact with the defender. It would still be hard to officiate with players like Shai because they are expert at baiting legitimate fouls.

I do think the NBA should call more offensive fouls. The only time I see charges get called is when the driving player blatantly slams into a defender with their feet set and puts them on their arse.

Looks like we are heading for a Game 7 boys. Or an incredible 4th quarter comeback. Either way, I am excited.

That article wonder if the WNBA can act in its own interest.

Can the WNBA act in its own interest?

By Mike McDaniel

Children trained in a variety of sports learn the aphorism: “there is no “I” in team.” That they must use their talents while subordinating their egos for the good of their team is relentlessly drilled into them. They quickly learn there are always others bigger, faster, stronger and more talented and if their coaches are people of common sense and integrity, they’re also taught they should appreciate those people because they make the team stronger.

Coaches also say playing sports is all about building character, about learning to work and play with others, which inevitably takes a backseat to winning.

That’s why study of Caitlin Clark and the WNBA is such a useful morality tale.

No. The answer is no.

That’s Caitlin Clark. She has it all. She’s pretty

That's a lie, by the way.

But no, Caitlin Clark can only self-flagellate and pontificate so much on her "white privilege" and play mrs nice girl to still ultimately end up at an unsatisfactory conclusion. That being that she can only do so much to raise the profile of a garbage league with no help from anyone and to no avail. The league is full of too many racist hater ass negro lesbians and self-hating white girls and a league office which probably cares more about pushing agendas than actually turning a profit for once. They have a golden goose and have shown they're more than willing to cook it if it means appeasing some bum ass angry negresses who bring nothing to the table but a bad attitude. Whoever is running the show over there is no David Stern, that much is clear.

The reality is is that the WNBA has peaked, and there's nothing more Clark can do on her own without the league office stepping in to protect her and doing more to make her the face of the league, which they've not shown a willingness to do. It's true, "there is no I in team", but there is in Caitlin, and the WNBA is ignoring that to their own detriment.

Mashallah, the Haliban will plant their flag and establish the Islamic State of Oklahomastan tonight!

In other news, KD YOU ARE NOW A ROCKET!

I don't pay that much attention to NBA outside of playing 2k, but it's funny if I skip a year then all the major stars are on different teams. It all feels like the opening of BASEketball. (1:08 if the timestamp doesn't work)

Tonight is the big game, I mean game 7 between the Thunder and the Pacers. All bets are off.
If anything, while it would be nice to see OKC actually do what KD, Westbrook and Harden could never do and win a championship, I have a suspicion that they will do the least amount of work to try to make Game 7 more “competitive” for Tyrese Halliburton to get another triple double and Pascal Siakam more minutes.

Those two with Myles Turner and Nesmith are the only reason why these Pacers are just a much better version of the NY Knicks.

I know he's old, but how is KD only worth 1 first round pick, 4 second round picks, and two eh players, when Desmond Bane just went for 4 first round picks and a first round pick swap.
It might be just that, KD's gonna be a rental for what, 2-4 years? And that's assuming he does not regress with age somewhere in between. The biggest consequence of this and the Bane trade is that the Giannis trade package is gonna be massive as he'll be the best player left on the trading block during a free agency class headlined by what, an okay but a little washed Harden, a 40-year old LeBron who might retire, and Myles Turner?
