From what I've heard NBC already got the rights and Silver's just waiting until after the playoffs to announce it. So RIP Chuck.

Also expect one playoff series next year to be Peacock exclusive.

I heard the current deal goes through next season. So they might keep the show through this time next year. Peacock exclusive NBA games would crash the illegal streaming sites.

Ah, you're right. It starts during the 2025 season.

I think illegal streaming sites held up during Dolphins vs. Chiefs in the NFL playoffs last year, which was Peacock exclusive. Peacock's servers, uh...struggled.

Surely losing the NBA on TNT will cause overall viewership to plummet? Charles Barkley is one of the only reasons people still watch the regular season.

lol lmao even. Niggerball views will be beyond fucked now, or it will force people to subscribe to the NBA app.

Now you get to watch NBC try to recreate it and fail horribly.

In other news Caitlin Clark's WNBA debut smashed viewership records. Fever vs Suns got 2.3m viewers. The next game up, Aces vs. Mercury got 464k. Which is actually surprisingly high for a WNBA game but y'know a nearly 80% dropoff in viewership means people were just tuning in to watch CC, and they probably won't be back.

I recently heard Barkley say something to the effect of his TNT contract having a clause that allows him to leave if the network loses its NBA rights, so I wouldn't be surprised if NBC tries to scoop him up. The real entertainment value of Inside the NBA, though, comes from Barkley's feuding with Mr. Sensitive as Kenny eggs him on and straight-man Ernie tries in vain to steer the discussion back to the game that they all definitely have just watched. It's an ensemble show, and trying to manufacture a replacement by poaching just one guy isn't going to work.

TNT had(has?) Charles on their NCAA tournament coverage and he doesn't work with the regular hosts and analysts. Comes off like a fool next to stat-line regurgitators who watched the regular season games and can name more than a couple players.

What the fuck happened to the Nuggets today? I have never seen a defending champion team fold like that, especially after making the Timberwolves look silly in game 5.
It's just a weird series. All but two of the games were blowouts, and even the two games that weren't, were 7 and 8 point differences.

Personally, I would not be shocked if the Indians Pacers force a Game 7 against the Knicks. Even if the Knicks were to win against them tonight, they probably will be swept by a Boston Celtics team that really looks like they want to win a ring with Kristaps Porzingis by their side.

That and when you add Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Al Horford to the mix, the Knicks will be lucky if they don’t get swept.

Whoever wins this series is going to be so exhausted in comparison to the Celtics (who've only faced the Heat without Butler and the Cavs without Mitchell), they'll be lucky to win a game.

The Knicks have already been injury riddled the entire series. The only regular starter they have is Jalen Brunson, who to be fair is their best player and has really stepped up these playoffs, but Josh Hart for example is supposed to be their 6th man, not their starter, and certainly not on 48mpg.

To be fair on the mpg front, while the jokes about Josh Hart playing indefinitely are pretty funny in all likelihood they compensate by doing less of the physical stuff that nobody sees. The actual NBA games, while strenuous, aren't even a majority of the physical activity these guys gotta do, and you can see from watching them that this isn't a team being run ragged by playing too long. They're still high energy at the end of those games, which just isn't going to happen if it's having a substantial detrimental effect.

Did Mike Malone and the assistants get lobotomies at the half? Denver looks completely lost on offensive.

Well, it was almost a great day if you like Denver and dislike NYC.

The further Minnesota advances, the harder the gut punch is going to be. Just like the Lions earlier this year
