I mean, Murdoch Murdoch were all about "saving the west" and had a far-right moral like every episode but it was still extremely funny. I think the difference is sincerity and the ability to make jokes that are funny on their own without the political context. Shit like this is just a grift, it's not made by people who actually believe in the project but the culture warrior audience just wants shit that tells them exactly what they want to hear so it's inevitable that some retards will support it.

Lack of self-awareness is the issue. The whole 'my black best friend' could work as a joke with the conservative character desperately seeking out a black man as a friend as not to appear racist, but he finds few who meets his view of the world. It is not too edgy but it could be easily funny. That would be far more appealing to conservatives as a joke, I think, because it criticises liberal expectations whilst also self-mocking of certain conservative types who really do not want to seem racist.
Comedy comes from an accurate depiction of human nature. It is why cynics (Twain, Voltaire, Waugh, and a great deal of stand-up) are often the funniest, though not necessarily the truest to life. It you are not willingly to play with people's emotions and desires then I do not think you can be particularly funny.
This show is just buzzwords.
There was an English sitcom in the 80s called The New Statesman about a Thatcherite MP who does every scummy move a rapid leftie would claim the Conservative government actually did and would always get away with it (a joke on how Thatcher kept winning elections). It is hilarious to both sides of the political spectrum because it is written by funny people but it also captures the mood well. There is something perhaps democratic (in the everyone is interesting sense) to political comedy that is hard feel in aggressive time. Not that one should not pick a side, but one should be aware of didactic tone.
I always thought a good version of The New Statesman now would be an MP who has every good intention and it totally idealising of the world and people, and naturally fails at every turn. An inverse but it assumes some liberals have good intentions despite being so utterly foolish.

They basically admitted to not even wanting to work on the show anymore by season 3 and just playing Halo 2 nonstop instead. Even if the cancellation wasn't mostly their own fault, 3 seasons is a fine length that doesn't risk overstaying its welcome so it's pretty retarded that they even got upset.

I love how the designated liberal strawman character in these shows always sticks out like a sore thumb and looks and acts five years out of date at minimum.
Birchum has a white guilt ridden manbun soy hipster. The soyboy meme hasn't been relevant in years and hipsters and hipster culture are pretty much dead. The closest relevant person to MB's character is Vaush, but Vaush is more of a fat neckbeard sex-pest degenerate than a stereotypical hipster.
Norm has a dangerhair genderspecial mask-nazi. The former two jokes have been told a million times over and mask-autism has (mostly) been gone since 2022 at best.
It basically says that the people who make these shows don't interact with liberals in real life or even online because if they did, they would find that most aren't walking caricatures of trigglypuff or the are you kidding me guy, and/or they would also find their strawmen look tame compared the utter subhumans that post on places r/againsthatesubs or in the foulest discord servers, but that's whole new can of worms altogether.
Honestly, TDW should just give Stonetoss a cartoon. It'd be infinitely funnier and more relevant than any of this trash.

The target audience of these shows are boomercons. They don’t really care if there’s any accuracy in who they lampoon. They even got laugh tracks in cartoons. These shows are the equivalent to boiled cabbage and The Daily Wire designed it that way. Stonetoss makes fun of the GOP too much, which would cause the average Daily Wire reader to be angry and confused.

Please god no, the whole reason why his comics work so well is that they're simple, isolated, raising jokes that lead to the punchline. Imagine trying to give 'toss characters their own overarching story in a 11 minute episode.

I've noticed this show's entire writing method is regurgitatng funny memes and news story shit from the last 5 years or so n the most unfunny way. Granted that's every other adult comedy lately but ths one's a specal surreal nature to it that makes it stand out from other shit. Between people doing the selective dementia where they feign knowledge of what it's doing and just go "UUUH CONSERVATIVES? CAN"T DO FUNNY!?!" Reminds me of the skibidi toilet shit where they'll praise literally every other gmod or sfm shitpost but treat skibidi toilet as if it's some unknown mind breaking thing they never saw before in their life solely because content farms grabbed onto it and they don't want to acknowledge the fact a variant of some meme video lipsyncing that one song to things fucking evolved into a "horrors of war" type deal. A big chunk of people I know that saw and knew about the dog gimp military guy and the lex luthor baggage theif and were laughing at that act like the appearance of them in this thing isn't actually them and is just "conservatives hating on gay people. " I think that denial of obvious internet references is what irritates me the most about the reaction people had to this. Shows shit but just laugh at it for being shit, you don't gotta try and add some extra bullshit clout chaser behavior on top of it that literally contradicts your own fucking posting history!
