The amount of success Matthew Stafford is having on the Rams is insane. Statistically he's off to an MVP caliber season, I'm glad to see things finally working out for him.
Cleveland has trounced Chicago 26-6 with 2 minutes remaining and 9 sacks by the Browns defense. I wish I could have an equal amount of liqour in my veins right now.
Love or hate the Dirty Birds, but Lamar Jackson is about as entertaining an NFL player as you'll find these days. 'Course he's probably going to get hurt and that'll be that.
God the Seahawks defense is fucking awful. Tre Flowers and DJ Reed wouldn't make the roster on any other team in our division. I seriously think Richard Sherman's corpse might be a more competent cornerback than either of our starters.
We might actually go straight into the basement this season.

I was skeptical about him going to the Rams. I also thought TB would win last night. Very glad I don't bet on sports.
Looking ahead...will two 0-14 teams meet on December 26 when we get to see Jaguars at NY Jets? Somehow, some way I think Jacksonsville pulls out a win before then, no clue when or against who, but we shall see. Jets are so awful everywhere, at every position, I don't even know where you start in terms of fixing things. Them I can see pulling off a "perfect" season.
the Jaguars traded the 9th pick of the 2020 draft (cornerback C.J. Henderson,) and a 5th round pick to Carolina for a 3rd round pick and tight end Dan Arnold
recently reinstated wide receiver Josh Gordon is set to sign with the Chiefs
linebacker Blake Martinez of the Giants is done for the year after tearing his ACL; he's the second team captain that they've lost for the season within ten days (Nick Gates being the other with his leg fracture against Washington)
Cowboys up 34-14 in the 4th quarter. Their defense has looked serviceable the last two games. I'll chalk the first game up to facing Brady on the road in the opener and assume some cautious optimism that the defense isn't a complete trashfire. Zeke has also looked good tonight.
Pity he did not go to the Panthers. Sam Darnold to Dan Arnold sounds like something out of Abbott and Costello.
Edit: This is weird. I made an earlier edit to this post on my phone about how boring I thought the Eagles-Cowboys game was, even though (I think) it was 20-14 when I tapped out, so not out of reach for the Iggles. Guess I didn't post it. Zak is a real NFL QB on a mediocre team, Hurts just doesn't seem to get it, whatever that "it" might be when it comes to NFL play. At least based upon what I saw. Maybe he'll learn, but Philly is not exactly the most forgiving of markets.
For those who didn't watch, they were talking about Eagles fans and Eli was talking about how man dirty birds he's seen or gotten whenever he played in Philly. I thought that they would've censored it for whatever reason but this was just great
Good to see the past-their-prime former superstars chasing a ring isn't only limited to the NBA.
Also, the Chicago Bears have agreed to purchase the site of Arlington race course in north suburban Arlington Heights. No announcement yet as to what the plans are with the property, but it's rumored that the Bears are looking to build a new stadium and entertainment district there, and gives them leverage against Mayor Beetlejuice Lightfoot in their negotiations with the city.
Also coach Matt Nagy is somehow still employed, and Bear fans everywhere are pissed and despondent.
I say this as a Steelers fan, Justin Tucker is the GOAT placekicker and it's not even close. I've been watching this man put my team away for almost a decade now. There's no worse feeling than to see the Ravens driving into FG range late in a close game, knowing that they have Tucker on the sideline. I wasn't even that surprised to see him hit a record-breaking FG to win a game, if anyone were going to do it he'd be the guy. He's first ballot HoF material easy.
Local archive of the kick for anyone hasn't seen it yet:
Would be pretty hilarious if the Raiders or Rams did not make the Super Bowl next year, and instead it will just be a random showing of Tom Brady doing what Tom Brady does best.
