Jake Bates is a fucking killer. Don't get much harder than kicking a winning FG at Arrowhead. It won't be the last time the UFL produces another gem or two.
Should be the first of many! All phases of the game look solid for the Detroit Lions. I truly and honestly believe this could be the year for us to FINALLY win a Superbowl. I have never had this high of expectations for this team.

I've watched most of the preseason games so far... basically every team in the NFL better hope none of its starting offensive linemen get hurt because the backups and third stringers across the league have looked like they're absolutely awful

The suffering must continue.

People will blame exhibition matches in Europe and the current division breakdown being absolutely perfect, but the fact that NFL-caliber linemen are literally one in several millions is the real thing preventing this league from expanding again.

EDIT: also Perna's flavor of suffering last year really won me over. I enjoyed watching him self-immolate in 2022 as Russell Wilson's bitter ex, but he got the Russ experience down to a T this last season and I'm glad the 12s didn't bully him too hard about it once he came around.

It doesn't help that DTs and edge rushers are making all the money so if you're a huge athletic kid in high school why would you want to play OL? You'll make way less money and get way less attention in the future. Play on the defensive line instead

It's really not a coincidence that the most successful RT in the league right now, Lane Johnson, played pretty much every other offensive position possible without success, before some coach was smart enough to tell him to anchor the strong side and eat a shitton of donuts.

It's wild how awful Justin Fields' field vision is. He'll have multiple receivers open and throw to the worst possible option and yet people still have some bizarre idea that he's worth something.

Also, Brandon Aubrey is incredible and hit at perfect 66 yarder thar would have been good from 72 according to next gen stats.

It also helps that you can be a perfectly fine pass rusher even if you're retarded. So that's where the athletic freaks go if they're not great at the whole football thing.

OL is 100x more complicated.

Wait there is more than one Chargers fan? My god… But happy we won the Harbaugh sweepstakes we in the money, next season. So, let the suffering continue.
I'm just hoping there isn't the wasting of Herbert's talents.

The game isn't slowing down for him, that much is clear. Which is a terribly awful thing to see, especially to a young player that showed a lot of promise. Perhaps it was all too much too fast for Fields? I think his best bet is to just soak everything up like a sponge while Russel leads the way. Still, field vision isn't something that just gets fixed overnight.

I'm just hoping the Chiefs don't glide to a free division for the 9th season in a row.

Don't count on it, muchacho. I wouldn't be surprised if they three-peat.

I am eagerly anticipating all the whining Yinzers will make about their offensive line sometime around week 5, like sacks aren't a QB stat and Russ is, once again, being let down by those around him. All it takes is a couple of deep bombs to Pickens to make casual football fans forgive Russ for making everyone around him look worse.
