The Giants drafting Jones in the first place was a bizarre decision.

However, I am always going to wonder how things may have turned out with him had the Giants organization not rushed Eli Manning into retirement a year too soon and didn't treat Jones like he was going to be the Second Coming immediately.

Jones might have benefited being under Eli's wing for at least a season-- a lot of young QBs have benefited from this system of learning from a veteran. It's too late for Jones, though. He's been playing for far too long to be "learning the ropes" at this point.

I am seeing that some people are seriously entertaining the possibility of Jones going to the Cowboys before the Thanksgiving game. I'm sorry, but I don't see it happening. For starters, Jones couldn't learn a playbook in six entire seasons ... How is he supposed to learn one in 5 days, exactly? Also, the Cowboys have completely and utterly annihilated the Giants for the past several years. I highly doubt the Cowboys organization is thinking, "Hey, I think this guy that we've been spanking for 6 years can win some games for us!"
Yeah and the Cowboys have Trey Lance anyway-hahahahahahaha.

tl&dr: force John Mara to sell the team already
It's wild how many terrible owners there are in the NFL. A quarter of league is run by guys you'd think are functionally retarded. It doesn't matter if they made their money elsewhere or are nepo babies. They not only don't have the acumen for running a team, but are too inept or arrogant to hire a front office that can.

John Mara
Woody Johnson
David Tepper
Shahid Khan
Virginia McKasky
David Haslam
Jerry Jones
Mark Davis
Jim Irsay

I'm sure there are others that aren't just coming to mind. Beginning to pay attention to the league as a whole during covid rather than just what my team did on Sundays was a hilarious eye opener. It's a soap opera.

Eagles backup CB Isaiah Rodgers, most well known for getting suspended by the Colts over gambling violations, uploaded a short video of custom cleats honoring DeSean Jackson for SNF this week. In the video you can hear not one, but two different ceiling birds chirp. Rodgers has made an estimated $3.5M dollars in his career so far.

Joe Shoen did try to sign Barkley, for almost a year and a half, and Barkley turned down every offer. During the bye in the '22 season they started negotiations and continued until the '24 off season where Barkley left in free agency. Because Barkley was playing hard ball with the Giants, the pivoted to signing Jones, then tagging Barkley. The original plan was to sign Barkley, then tag Jones. Shoen didn't want to overpay for a rb but from what was said about the offers, it was top 5 rb pay, not market setting pay like what Barkley wanted. Barkley deserves his share of blame for this as well, not just Shoen.

As for Daniel Jones, Giants fans who are so happy he is gone are going to be in for a rude awakening when the next qb they draft ends up playing just like Jones because the Giants continually fail to address the offensive line. We saw Eli decline because of bad o-line play, not age or anything else. We saw Jones get mentally buck broken playing behind by far, the worst offensive line and supporting cast in the league for 6 years. We are going to see the next QB play bad because the root problem hasn't been address and likely won't be addressed for a while. Anyone who thinks Jones was setup to succeed with the Giants is clueless. The Giants had some of the worst offensive skill players and the worst o-line during his career with the Giants. He was played behind the 2nd worst o-line in NFL history last season, and people still point the finger at him. They made the playoffs in 2022 with practice squad wrs and a horrible o-line. He may have never been the long term answer, but he never got the help every other qb gets to be a good qb in the league.

People want easy solutions, dump Jones then we'll finally be a good team! It's a tougher pill to swallow when you realize that there's alot more people involved making bad decisions and it probably requires an entire new front office all the way down to the roster. Something happened after the 2011 season where the Giants have missed on every draft and made so many poor personal decisions, it's astounding.

As for Daboll, I think he's gone. Not just for the chance to hire Bellichek, but Daboll has gotten worse every year despite the roster getting better.

So you need more than 3.5 mil to pay for a new smoke detector battery

To be a fly on the wall at the owner's meetings

The fact u didn't put arthur blank is appalling he's worse then all of them put together. Trust me he put a ream thru 28bto 3

For all the talk about how bad Danny Dimes is, I have to question if he's that bad. He could be a serviceable backup, at least for short term, especially if he has a competent offensive line and receivers that work for him rather than themselves. I feel bad for him. Daniel was a victim of poor coaching, poor play, and no true support from the organization or fans. I suspect he'll get picked up by the Jags or Panthers to either serve as a backup or to platoon the starting position until they get their shit figured out.

I hope he goes to an actual team that can develop him into something manageable. With the right development, he could be a starter in 2-3 years for a team that isn't quite ready to make a push but is a year away

Edit: after listening to the Rich Eisen segment, the best thing for the Giants to do is to fire Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen. Unless they want to enter the Bear's cycle

Pickens in that ski mask needing to be held back by three other dudes the second the Browns won was kino.
I 100% expect Pickens to go the Antonio Brown route or worse. Dude is way too emotional and belligerent at the drop of a fucking hat. I can only hope that pregnant women stay away from him.

I got yelled at on the XM NFL radio channel for saying that you have to be on "Jim Irsays's trunk of pills" to justify paying Dax Prescott. Good times.

Count Chocula ass nigger maurading on the side lines. Decrepit ass Jew mfr

Appropos of nothing, here's your friendly reminder that Deshaun Watson's cap number in 2025 AND '26 is a little over $72 million.
I think this will be up there with the Hershel Walker trade. Its just so hard to tell because the Vikings weren't completely destroyed as an organization by the Walker trade but they gifted Dallas 3 Super Bowls. Meanwhile, Houston did manage to rebuild into a decent contender in the AFC with the trade but Cleveland is going to be so utterly destroyed with Watson

This feels worse just due to the fact the Browns had an above average QB in Baker, and they intentionally ruined him in order to overspend on Watson.

Mentally I encapsulate it as:
-Walker is the worst trade of the pre-salary cap era
-Watson is the worst trade of the salary cap era

It's almost time for Sunday REDZONE.
