Enjoy the rebuild. Just hope you don't become the Jets or the Jags and constantly be in a rebuild
Our last one only took 2 seasons, but we did it properly with Mora as the Tank Commander in 2009 before bringing in Pete. This one's going to be way harder and I expect will resemble the Flores or Erickson years instead, where the only good thing about the team was Cortez Kennedy.

Both are 3rd rounders from what I've seen.
Yeah I just saw that. 3rd round this year and 3rd next year that could move to a second round if incentives are met. Its just amazing how that contract with Wentz was so toxic that people are willing to accept a trade for starting QB that seem like a back up QB just to get rid of that cap hit

Edit: Holy fuck I think the colts gave up a second round too

I think it was a 2022 third round pick, a conditional 2023 third round pick that could become a second based on Wentz's playing time, and a 2022 second round pick swap. The Colts gave up the 47th pick for Washington's 42nd pick, so the Colts in effect moved up five spots in the second round.

Thank god. Couldn't imagine how terrible Wentz would be if they had to give up a second just to get rid of him. Still doesn't make up for what they gave up to get him though

Do you think this means Reich is on the hot seat? He was the chief Wentz prosleytizer and that kept a team with the most Pro Bowl players out of the playoffs.

I don't think this specific trade means he is on the hot seat. What they do next will determine if he is on the hot seat and what the Colts do going forward. Remember, they have had 5 QBs in the past 5 years looking for something that would work, so I don't think its Reich coaching poorly.

What the fuck do the Colts even do at QB now? Are they laying the foundation for tanking mode so they can draft Arch Manning in four years?
They are going to be throwing something at a QB now. I bet Kurt Cousins is available, Jimmy G, Watson (if legal troubles go well), Famous Jameis, Trubisky, Dalton, whatever other QB is available for trade. Lots of FA right now

And the best option is the biggest question mark.

They might as well give Watson/Jimmy G a chance since they have a very good run-game to compliment a passing game

Following Shefter and Rapaport in Twitter right now is the most insane shit ever. They are both terminally online yet also not trooning out which is incredible.

Colts- Probably making a move for Watson if legal issues are ok. Don't think Jimmy G is all that he is cracked up to be so he better come cheap or I don't think they should take him. Jimmy was the biggest liability for the 49ers and I can't imagine him doing well outside that organization

Kumerow resigned for the Bills. Have a soft spot for him considering he played D3 football in college for a consistent national title contender and also played for the packers

Washington is also getting a 7th round pick with Wentz deal. Colts getting fleeced more and more with this deal

A few solid FA tackles are hitting the market. Not sure what that means for the upcoming draft but that position seems to have a shit ton of options right now

And for the lulz
Colin Kaepernick released another shitty workout video saying he is ready to play again and feels in shape. I can't imagine anyone will fall for this clown show. Pretty sure the last stunt he pulled officially killed his chances to play

Nothing more than a ploy to get more attention I'd assume. It'll rile up the social justice and Twitter crowd who don't know anything nor care about football into bleating on about racism when he isn't signed. Any team who'd give him a deal, a quarterback who will turn 35 midway through the regular season and hasn't played a professional snap since before Trump officially even took office, is doing it purely as a PR stunt no matter what they say publicly.

Edit: missed a word or two.

Double posting cause gay

Bears are trying to finalize a deal to send Khalil Mack to the Chargers for some top draft picks
It appears to be a 2nd rounder this year and a 6th rounder for next year.

I think the falcons and one other team were trying to scout him last time and he pulled his publicity stunt. Of all the teams that need a QB, nobody is going to look at him for an option. Why would you take a guy who is old, hasn't played since 2016, lost his job to Blaine Gabbart and then Christian Ponder. Any head coach hiring him will lose their job within 2 years

Bears trade Mack to Chargers for a 2nd round pick this year and 6th round pick next year. I guess everyone in the NFC north is just trying to rebuild and be ready to win once Rodgers retires/leaves the packers
