Your namesake reminds me that thanks to... extenuating circumstances.... Daniel Jones somehow actually was the best QB the Giants could've picked at that time.
I still find it funny looking back how the Giants were given alot of flack for taking Saquoun over Darnold the year before. Not that Gettleman was a genious but it was absolutely the right move looking back.

DeAndre Hopkins is signing with the Titans on a two-year, $26 million deal (could be up to $32 million with incentives.)
Looks like an all around win. DHop's buddies with Henry so he gets to play with him and the Titans need a WR who can reliably move the chains. That's fairly cheap too.

I'd say Titans would be one to watch for next season but unfortunately there's a little problem in the AFC.

Hey man, the Titans are gonna go 10-7 and win the AFC South next year

Gettleman was legitimately retarded. I’m not too happy about the Saquon news but it’s alright. He was 100 times more valuable to our offense when he was here then Darnold ever would’ve been (didn’t Darnold post a 0 QBR in Carolina or some shit?)

Probably, or he was still seeing ghosts after that Patriots game. Drafting was easily Gettleman's best trait as his drafts were decent and found some great players for the Giants. Unfortunately he was a disaster at everything else. His head coaches, salary cap management and free agency moves were complete failures and kept the Giants firmly in the bottom of the league. Like how some coordinators are good at what they do but can't be head coaches, he's probably someone who should be head of scouting or something but never close to the gm role.

Gettleman got us Daniel Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Oshane Ximines, Darius Slayton, Andrew Thomas, and Azeez Ojulari. I would argue all of those are good, they just looked bad because of bad coaching from Joe Judge and general organizational issues.

There’s also a large portion of giants fans who like to sperg out about how Odell got traded when we got the best defensive lineman in the entire league out of it because if we kept him Eli would’ve suddenly returned to 2007 form and we would’ve won 9 more super bowls.

Don't forget during the back half of Eli's career, people genuinely thought that if the Giants drafted a new QB, all their offensive problems would disappear over night. Never mind that from 2011 to now, the Giants offensive line has been consistently one of the worst in the league which was crippling the offense. Eagles games were always the worst to watch because the Eagles d line would man handle the Giants o line and there was nothing they could do about it. Couldn't pass cause there was no time to throw, and couldn't run because there was no holes for the RB. But drafting a new QB would somehow fix that!

I also never liked Odell. I was so happy to see his ass shipped to cleveland.

Wait...are you telling me there's 11 people on offense?

Fournette got pretty mad last year on the Bucs since he was playing injured and Leftwich kept calling power runs up the weak side A-gap, which made no sense since that was where the two worst run blockers were. Then he'd just get deleted by a DT.

Watching Netflix's QB series and I have two takeaways:
-Kirk Cousins is legit a good dude (wouldn't want him as my starter but still)
-Does Patrick Mahomes legit have some kind of throat injury for his voice to sound like that? He sounds like a 60 year old chain smoker 35-odd years too early.

Nope, all lies. Unless there's someone to throw under the bus, then other people exist on the offense.

Weren't the Bucs near last in rushing attempts last year? Cause if they kept running plays like that, their idiot OC would think that the run game isn't working and abandon it immediately.

Dead last at 386 attempts. Ahead of them are the Dolphins (they have Waddle and Hill lmao), the Texans (garbage franchise), and the Bengals (strongest WR room in the league with possibly the most efficient pocket passer currently playing).

And then somehow the Chargers, probably because of all those screen passes to Ekeler lmao

My guess would be a combination of a vocal cord nodule and growing up in Texas. They weren't wrong when they said he sounded like Kenny Powers...

Yep. Leftwich had an offensive strategy in mind that clearly was not working but man that dude stuck to it all season.

"gotta run so teams respect the play action" like dude teams were seriously running cover 2 in the endzone

It’ll take them years to be competitive again. It’s not like basketball where you can just clean house and have a good draft. I half wonder if they’re going to start their own version of “the process” so they can get better picks and just rebuild from the ground up.
If Ron Rivera gets fired mid-season we'll have our answer. If yes, they're fast-tracking it and throwing Howell to the wolves. If no, they're doing the slow version.
I give it even odds Terry gets to be Scary on another roster next year.
