Just fucking shoot me. Three first round picks and he's gone before anything. I get it. I get it. But still. Think about how badly this would impact other organizations, thank god the 49er's are better run than some teams.
The good teams know when to cut their losses. Most other teams would waste years on this guy and cycle through head coaches and GMs before realizing the guy sucks.

You cut your losses and managed to convince the Cowboys to not only take him, but give up a 4th rounder for him. Lots of organizations make mistakes, but the better ones know when to take their L's and move on and the best ones somehow get something in return. Jerry is doing the opposite of what Jimmy Johnson did with the Cowboys to make them dominant in the 90s

Trey Lance traded to the Cowboys for a 4th round pick. Not sure why anybody would take him but Jerry is retarded.
When was the last time someone even traded for a QB3, much less for a 4th?

Don't know what Jerruh is even doing here. His preseason performance didn't really look like some kind of super athletic QB that just needs more reps before he turns into Mahomes. He's unironically about as agile as Kyle Trask.

I know around this time of the football year, some teams might trade for a QB3 as a backup but its usually late draft picks. Teams also trade for veterans, not project QBs.

That's what I was thinking when I saw him play. This is the guy they up everything for? And he's struggling on one of the best offenses in the league? If he can't succeed there, what makes coaches/GMs think he'll succeed on much worse offenses. I really don't get it.

Jerry's convinced he's smarter than the rest of the league, again. Cooper Rush is a great backup, but that's his ceiling. He isn't a Dak replacement. And Dak's been looking mortal more and more often the last few years. Maybe he thinks Mike McCarthy can replicate what he did in the mid 2000's with sitting Aaron on the depth chart for a few more years, but Trey Lance is not Aaron Rodgers.

I'd like to give a challenge to the NFL Thread just to see how well we do. Guess the standings of the NFL.

Mike Evans' agents are currently fucking around trying to get him a Kupp-level contract with someone

Being an NFL agent must be fun as hell when you just start calling team owners like "we'll start our negotiations at 15 billion dollars"
Why would they give out a huge contract to an aging receiver? Rams are already regretting the contracts they gave out after their superbowl win, so Kupp is not the best comparison.

Also, he's been horrible in fantasy football.

I've been roped into a fantasy football league with some co workers. Any advice for a first timer? We draft this weekend and right now I'm just going off the fantasypro rankings and keeping myself aware of what happens with guys who might drop to the later rounds.

Most of the people I'm playing with are also new so I expect some retarded looking early picks that somehow work out.

auto draft. Unless you know players and have a vague idea of how the system works that allows you to look into draft videos, just auto draft

I should've mentioned that the draft is in person with physical stickers and boards. Not bad advice though. From my research im probably be best served going off a combination of adp and positional rankings.

Should've mentioned that while I dont follow the nfl religiously, I have a basic understanding of players and teams from conversations and when I watched games every weekend (>4 years ago).

Go off an ADP board, enjoy when you take someone's preferred player before they do, and if it's a snake draft and you're at the turn(picking back to back), don't be afraid to reach for a guy because it'll be a long time before you get to pick again. Welcome to  misery a fun experience!

I also try and draft one player from my team if there's a good fit for it. As a Bears fan, that's typically kicker or backup QB because Chicago is shit. Hopefully there's some wild reaches and you have a good time, in-person drafts are always the best. Thanks for reminding me to print off a few excel sheets for my live draft later tonight.

You're on the right track.

The only real trick in fantasy football is streaming (changing out defense and QB every week based on the matchups) but honestly it doesn't really matter that much.
