There's no reason to waste another QB behind an offensive line that hasn't been good in 20 years and is a curse upon the position. But Chicago wouldn't he a lolcow franchise if they didn't keep doing this shit over and over again.

They're gonna have to wait until next season to even try, I think. Like I said earlier ITT, if i remember right the best O Lineman in this draft is a dude named fucking Kool-Aid that's being scouted by the Bengals.

Correction: I don't even know who the best lineman in the draft is, that dude's a fucking corner. I do not edit out my post b/c i am not a coward. All I know is that from metrics that I've seen, O-line is becoming a premium position in the league really quickly, especially with the Eagles and Lions showing how much a good one can do for you.

I honestly think y'all are gonna stick with fields, but give em more support. I see potential but y'all gotta figure some of that stuff out. With this year's QB class, it's rather tempting. But some teams are better sticking with who they have rather than make that reset. I'll make the argument that Detroit is ready to make that transition or start to, since I genuinely don't believe Goff in the long term is our guy. But I'll tell ya Chiraq, stick with fields and get Harrison Jr.
Nobody would fault Poles for taking Caleb, even if he busts. It's a safer move than sticking with Fields who keeps glitching out and holding onto the ball forever. I expect Fields to be a Falcon next season.

Fields on the Falcons weirdly feels like a scheme fit? Am I high or would that actually maybe work with Pitts and London on one hand and Bijan and Cordarelle on the other?

In theory, yeah, because everyone on that offense would be a nightmare if the defense messed up and gave them an open lane.

Unfortunately Arthur Smith just seems like he's better at making a killer roster than actually using them.

The line is about 90% of the game. From the college game, you can see how Michigan beat Ohio State these past few years from the line, Colorado can't win without it, and Georgia last few years just destroyed everyone due to their offensive and defensive lines. The easiest way to see who is going to win the game is to watch the line at the snap. If the offensive line pushes everyone forward, good chance they will win. If the offensive line gets pushed back, good chance they will lose

I really wish people more people who talked about football were aware of this obvious fact, including former players. All we hear about is QBs and how everything is their fault, good or bad.

QB faults are way easier to figure out when the O-line is good. Since again when the O-line is very good, you'll see that some QBs literally can't throw the ball accurately or quickly enough for most O-lines if they can't be given a perfectly clean pocket (every single time).

Having an amazing O-line doesn't make your quarterback good. But having a shit O-line will make sure your quarterback won't be good

The fact that half of the league has problems at O-line because they are easily the most freak, hard to find athletes in the sport is my argument against further league expansion.
Guys who spent all of high school and college pancaking the shit out of edge rushers will look positively middling against an NFL defensive line with even average coaching.

I know the trend with guys like the Bosa Brothers and Micah Parsons (even though he usually posts up at Linebacker) is that Edge Rushers are starting to get slimmer and more dynamic as opposed to the hulking big men that they used to stack on the line- do you think we might see a similar evolution at Tackle or other O-Line positions where sheer bulk becomes secondary to hand speed and foot coordination?

So what's the real issue if it's not the quarterback?
Consistent Injuries to the playmakers on the team. Their strength and conditioning coach has been given the lowest grade in the league by the players in a player-voted report card for every team's working conditions. (keep in mind all 31 other teams' strength coaches usually earned a B+ to A+ grades, Baltimore earned an F) this is a very important part of the team as these are the guys who are usually ensuring and enabling recovery and helping players in workouts. The saying I heard goes like this, "Lamar can't throw the ball to himself". Since everyone is getting injured.

According to a former player, they're forced to either play hurt or sit the bench for long periods of time and get treated like shit by the Coaches for it. It's not just that the actual training is bad, it's that the staff doesn't care. The Ravens are absolutely plagued with injuries for a reason. Even by NFL standards, that team is pushed to the limit.

While not the generational defense it used to be, the Ravens D is not that bad lately. On offense, they have a not-quite-washed OBJ, Lamar, who is probably the only reason Justin Fields ever got a job in the league and is arguably the benchmark by which every 'athletic' quarterback should be judged (his accuracy leaves something to be desired), one of the most promising looking young WR's in the league, IMO the second best pass-catching tight end in the league, a fantastic RB corps, a solid if not special O-Line, a decent backup QB, good receivers and arguably the greatest kicker of the modern era.

They are down to their second and third strings on some positions.

This is NOT a problem that can be fixed by Lamar, or by ejecting him because he's a 'hood rat'. They pay him made man money for a reason- he wins games.
