I keep forgetting about it. I’m so enveloped in baseball and the beginning of NBA playoffs that football isn’t going to start being a thing in my mind until training camp starts. I know that one dude kicked a 65 yard field goal to win a game but other than that, I’m clueless.
yeah, it's the result of a merger between two other moderately successful Spring leagues (The USFL and XFL). I love to watch it personally as it did help me understand the game better while not having to look at old ass footage of NFL games. I do think spring football is a great thing for the overall ethos of football. It gives a lot of players a great opportunity to show off what they're capable of. The Kicker Jake Bates. Who plays for the Michigan Panthers had never kicked an FG since before High school. His 65 yarder was his first-ever kick in a Football game of any level. Had the pleasure to see it in person. The man has a cannon of a leg. He made a 62-yarder this past week. The whole stadium chanted his name before he did it. If he keeps this up he's being signed to a proper NFL team. (Hopefully the lions)

But remember the only reason why we know of this man in the first place was because of the UFL. I do hope some of you folks check it out.

Of all the other NFC North teams, I'd settle for Detroit hopefully getting him. Lord knows he'd be wasted in Chicago

Kicker is actually one of the few needs the lions have. We need a shutdown corner and a kicker and thats about it.

Draft this year isn't a big deal for the 49er's. We need O-Line most of all, maybe secondary. We don't need a superstar, just some solid players to shore up what we have. Good lord I'm still upset over all that we might have missed out on with that trade up for Trey Lance.

Robert Kraft apparently told Arthur Blank, the Falcons owner, not to hire Belichick as their next head coach.

I can't imagine how ungrateful and backstabbing someone could be to the man responsible for one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. First Kraft releases a documentary trashing Belichick, giving the sole credit to Brady and saying Belichick was actually in the way of their dynasty. Now he's trying to stop Belichick from getting hired by another team.

I don't know if you watched the Dynasty miniseries about the Patriots that recently came out (produced by Kraft Productions, LLC), which, among other things:
  • Essentially skipped the '03-'04 teams and made no mention of their 21 game winning streak during that time frame
  • Made an entire episode about Spygate and blamed Belichick for it
  • Made an entire episode about Aaron Hernandez where Kraft was portrayed as a too trusting good guy and Bill as an amoral football obsessive who didn't care about his off field issues
  • Made an entire episode about Belichick kicking Alex Guerrero out of team facilities and off of the team plane
  • Blamed Belichick for driving Brady out of town
Now, ostensibly, this miniseries (that was a hit job on Belichick on his way out of the door in all but name), is based on a book, also called the Dynasty. A book that I am a fan of, and that has a relatively even handed take on the history of the team during their wonder years. You can still tell that Kraft financed it (they drop the fact that he married into money and kept pretending he was a self-made millionaire), but it didn't go out of its way to shit on Bill, and I was shocked at how much more slanted the miniseries was when I saw it.
So I looked into the publishing timeline. The book came out right at the beginning of the 2020 season, when Brady was just starting his first season in Tampa. Research ended for it before Brady had even announced what team he had picked, just that he was going to pursue free agency.

My theory? Brady immediately winning another ring on a stacked team after leaving New England permanently soured Kraft on Bill and he's resented him for it ever since. Some people are saying he's also trying to sideline Bill's role in the dynasty to boost his HOF resume as an owner, which, if true, is stupid, because he's already in the hall just for his role in making media contracts explode in size and ending the 2011 lockout.

I have not seen it but I have seen alot of former players complain about the documentary and the treatment of Belichick. I don't remember if it was a Rodney Harrison or McCourty but some defensive player said he was interviewed for 6 hours and they only clip he had in the entire show was the one negative thing he said about Belichick.

I didn't know it was based on a book. But like the book, Kraft tried to say he had no involvement in the series and that it was the director just telling the truth. Turns out that Kraft is good friends with one of the producers of the series who probably helped shape the direction of the series.

I really wish more people who emphasize that Brady didn't join some charity case, he joined a stacked team that just needed a QB who wouldn't throw 30 ints over a 16 game season. Now retards say Brady can make any team a Superbowl champion. I'd like to seem him play behind this Giants O-line and survive the season.

I'm just having a hard time imagining someone being butt hurt at the guy who built your team into one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. How ungrateful can you get. Teams would kill for 1 championship, and this guy is ungrateful after 6. Then again, he has managed to piss off 3 hall of fame coaches (I'm assuming Carroll gets in) with his ownership, so this shouldn't be too shocking.
Some people are saying he's also trying to sideline Bill's role in the dynasty to boost his HOF resume as an owner, which, if true, is stupid, because he's already in the hall just for his role in making media contracts explode in size and ending the 2011 lockout.
You're probably right but I don't agree Kraft should belong in the hall of fame. It's like Jerry Jones, by all accounts he is a terrible owner who lucked into hiring a top coach who ran things well and did just enough to not fuck everything up. He gets voted in because he helped make the NFL alot of money. It's just a stark contrast between owners like George Halas, and Wellington Mara who made significant contributions to the NFL over the course of decades versus people who made alot of money on their sports investment.

The lions have officially unvield their new UNI's. The reactions have been a good mix of Praise and slight dissapointment. However we can agree that these designs are much better than the previous iterations. One noteworthy absence is the "WCF" tags on the side of the shoulder pads (something a lot of fans aren't going to miss).
They look solid though they could've gone further into a more "newer" design rather than simplifying the old Barry era jerseys. The black uniforms are my favorite by far.

I mean we already saw it with the Bucs. Yes the GOAT QB with 3 all-pro receivers will rip you the fuck apart. Unsurprisingly.

Once the rest of the roster returned to normalcy and Jensen got injured he was reduced to throwing to the hot route or curling up into the fetal position as he got sacked. He'd be an upgrade over most QBs in the league still but he obviously can't do it on his own.

I don't really care for most of the black-alt uniforms, really only the Ravens, Panthers, and this one don't look like shit.

When the guy who is in charge of signing checks wants more credit for success

The uniforms loon great IMO. The only thing I would change is the helmets.

The blue helmets on black looks a bit garish and clashes too much IMO. The whole uniform needs more silver TBH. Rod wood said they might introduce a third alt helmet next year, i guess they were too late in the design process with these uniforms to get one designed in time. I will DEFINITELY be buying a black Hutchinson or Jack Campbell jersey.

I'm happy they went back to the "Sanders era" jerseys, though the first thing that comes to mind when I see the return of the black alt is the 2008 Lions lol.

The Ride Never Ends - the Broncos have traded for Zach Wilson.

Hopefully this Wilson trade works out better than the last one did, for Perna’s sake if nothing else.
