Alright boys, the Draft is this Thursday. What are you guys hoping your teams do in the draft?

Honestly, I just hope my Brownies make smart picks. I'd like to see some interior DLs and maybe a WR. I really like Michael Hall from Ohio State. He's projected as a 2nd round pick, so I hope he's around for the 54th pick. I like that OL from Yale Kiran Amegadjie too. Between the two though, I'd probably go with Hall.

Really I think we just have to focus on shoring up positional depth this year. We've got good talent at all positions, and with Nick Chubb projected to be ahead in his rehab from the knee injury, we'll be back to our usual down hill offense.

For the Giants, for the love of God, don't draft a QB. You are setting him up to fail just like Manning (at the end of his career) and Jones. Take a WR or trade down to get more picks and build the team up. O-line, WR, TE, and CB are all needs. They aren't a QB away from winning the superbowl, people need to stop acting like they are.

And please stop fucking around with the o-line and put a decent one out there.

The Lions have Inked a deal with their elite all-pro WR, and Egyptian Sun God acolyte Amon Ra St. Brown to a 4 year 120 million dollar deal with 77 million guaranteed, making him the highest paid WR in the League.

I would have paid him however much he wanted, even if he wanted Pat Mahomes money, hell id have given him a BILLION dollar deal and heres why. His play on the field, and value as a leader if this team is WORTH IT! Additionally, The Vikings are going to have to, at the very least, match, if not exceed this contract if they want to resign Justin Jefferson. Which more than likely they wont be able to do unless they ace their rebuild like the Lions did. And even if they do pay him, they wont be able to pay anyone else to come and help him.

TL;DR
The Lions have locked down their star WR for the future and in the process may have gotten rid of the OTHER elite all-pro WR thats in their division.

Thats what I call a Win-Win!

They aren't a QB away from winning the superbowl, people need to stop acting like they are.

I saw a post ESPN made last offseason (2023) praising how the giants did and their "bright future". I got into an argument with this giants fan about how the Lions were in a better position than the giants with Goff out playing Danny Dimes. I threw stats at him and the discussion basically ended with "oh yeah well we'll see after the seasons over whos right!"

If youre out there Mr.Random Dumbass Greasy Wop Dago Giants fan, suck my shit I was right!

This nigga lifts shirts, this nigga on the down low, this nigga be a toilet trader, this nigga gardens uphill, this nigga packs fudge, he's a friend of Dorothy, he feels the love that dare not speak Its name, he loves to dance, he's of the Uranian brotherhood, he indulges in the French vice, he has an antipathic sexual Instinct, he's fluent in Polari, he's a refugee from Sodom, he's on the wrong bus, he bats for the other team, he's temperamental, he's 'one of them' if you catch my drift.

The only game he really looked good was that one against the Bucs where he turned into Michael Vick and was breaking off huge runs like it was nothing.

At least he didn't fuck up the QB market and make everyone think they could get $40m/yr

A bit of a news day in the NFL, so here's a recap!

1. On the heels of extending Amon-Ra St. Brown to a 4 year, $120m contract, the Lions are also inking a deal that locks in Penei Sewell for 4 years at $112m with $85m guaranteed. Sewell's new annual salary of $28m/yr now makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Read more at ESPN.

2. In other contract news, the Cincinnati Bengals have elected to take the 5th year option on WR Ja'Marr Chase. Unfortunately this news was overshadowed almost immediately by Trey Hendrickson and Tee Higgins requesting to be traded. Hendrickson signed an extension last July that goes through 2025, but seems to want a new deal now. He recorded personal bests last season in tackles (28 solo, 15 assists for 43 total combined), sacks (17.5), and had a third straight season of 3 forced fumbles. Tee Higgins, on the other hand, has been a major question mark after getting the franchise tag. He requested to be traded back in March, but said earlier this month that he is expecting to play in Cincinnati this year. Read more at ESPN.

3. Finally, the Bears have unveiled a proposal for a brand new lakefront domed stadium/infrastructure at the cost of $5 billion. The stadium itself would cost $3.2 billion while the surrounding infrastructure would be $1.5 billion. The Bears would put up $2.025 billion towards the project along with a $300 million loan from the NFL and $900 million in bonds from the Illinois Sports Facility Authority. Mayor Brandon Johnson says he is pleased with the plan and says no new taxes or tax hikes will be necessary. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Illinois House Speaker Emmanuel Welch do not seem as enthused, however. Read more at ESPN.

Looks like the Lions have locked up another one of their high flying receivers.

The only major impending deal they have to get done before 2025 now is Jared Goff. And reportedly they arent close on a deal. Dont be flabbergasted if the Lions end up taking a QB this year. Both Sewell and St. Brown are in Detroit for the next 5 years, one has to ask themselves is Jared Goff still going to be productive then at age 35-36? Maybe after being spurned by LA Goff isnt willing to take a hometown discount. Or maybe he wants something longer term than both Sewell or St. Brown, while management wants the contracts to be clustered together so they can easily and painlessly rebuild without having too many huge contracts on the book. Either way DONT COUNT THE LIONS OUT OF THE QB MARKET. Brad Holmes has proven to be ANYTHING but predictable, he LOVES trading in and out of spots. His 2nd year he traded up from 32 to 12 to get Jameson Williams, that draft i got in the shower after they took hutch thinking I had plenty of time until their next pick, only to hear the trade bell coming from my TV and they come back on the clock. And dont even get me started on last years insanity. If Brad Holmes see's a player he likes he's going to do what he can to get him. So if a QB BH likes falls a bit I dont think its crazy to think the Lions could make a move for him.

Let's say they don't trade up. Who is likely going to be left on the board in the QB room? Detroit has the 29th pick, so all the top talents are long gone. Maybe Bo Nix or J.J. McCarthy if you're lucky? I think the only scenario to get a QB in this draft is to trade up, and at this point that is going to be an ultra-premium price. Not saying it couldn't be done, but you'd have to give up the farm and then some to get any higher than you are right now. I think the conservative safe option is to have Goff play out his contract, maybe do some trading before the deadline, and see if you can't shore up picks for next year's draft. But you're right, Holmes is one of the most unpredictable GMs in the league and anything could happen!

I cant reply to you post in this thread for some reason janny.

But what about the flip side of that, where a QB does fall to them @ 29 and they dont like him, say its Penix or Jusr Nix, and they dont like how they fit into the timeline, they could trade back. That 5th year option for 1st round rookies is an overlooked roster building tool that people are starting to wake up to. they have been saying that they might trade down if the offers right but who knows its all smoke and mirrors with the Lions, its another reason I think they'll trade up again because its the one thing I haven't heard them talk about really. Ive heard them talk about "being a lone wolf" and picking players last year when the scouts wanted someone else and Ive heard the trade down talk, but nothing about going up.

Tbh Im just looking to get that screenshot if I end up accurately predicting what happens so I can get that endorphin rush of being right.

This literally makes absolutely no sense. Why? Why would they build a new stadium right next to the old one. One of the biggest complaints about Soldier Field was its location. It was located in the middle of crime ridden city with, no parking, yet blocks away from the nearest transit stops, necessitating a dangerous, and long walk, to the stadium for most people. Plus, it was right on the Lakefront, so Lake Effect was in full force. The domes part will handle the lakefront problem, but everything else remains an issue. What was the point of the team buying out that racetrack and the surrounding land if they were just going to do this? None of this makes any damn sense.

This was my first question. It will be interesting to see what kind of kickbacks incentives the city is promising to the team to stay in that terrible location, especially after publicly telling the city essentially to fuck off.

I can't see this project moving forward. Both the head of the legislature and the governor have basically said they aren't supporting it. Its dead on arrival.

Normally, I'd say that they wouldn't have made a public announcement without having all of their ducks in a row, but this is the Bears we're talking about here...

The McCaskey family is too goddamn cheap to develop the land they bought in Arlington Heights. They also weren't fans of the tax assesment they received for the land. Arlington Heights also doesn't have the population size to make it palatable for property taxes to at least double for everyone that lives there. There also isn't the infrastructure in Arlington Heights to handle the town doubling in population when the Bears would play there.

I and many others told Goodell to open his wrists. I think Kamala Harris and her faggot husband are like ten rows in front of me.

EDIT: People have been more explicit about Goodell.
