Does anyone ITT find the nfl unwatchable these days? I can’t stand watching nigger meme qbs make the first read and then try to run endlessly on repeat. It’s fucking abysmal and I didn’t realize how important the qb position is to entertainment till they started pushing black qbs.
I mean goodell turning it into the nba with shoulder pads and taking every part of physicality didnt?

Von Miller signed a 1 year deal with the Redskins.
You know, paying Teddy McLaurin after finally giving him a QB worth a damn would probably be a better use of that money than giving it to a guy who already did his ring-chasing, contributor at best, old man not ready to move on tour with the Bills.

The Giants and the Patriots are probably at about the same level. The Giants could very well start the season 0-4, the Patriots 3=1.

Gotta love the NFL scheduling gods.

Also weird how the NFC East went from a joke to having two legit playoff teams, an okay to possibly good Cowboys team ... and the Giants.

New details about his contract have been released.
5M is actually 2M guaranteed with a 3M incentive bonus.
Based on this upcoming year's contracts in regards to guaranteed money, he will be the 48th highest paid TE.

Waller's last season in the NFL was in 2023, where he played 12 games with 52 catches out of 74 targets for 552 yards on the Giants.
It seems that this move was to fill the gap left by Jonnu Smith for a receiving tight end (Smith was traded in the Ramsey/Fitzpatrick deal).
Jonnu Smith was a pro-bowler last year after being signed by the Dolphins, playing a key part in their passing offense.

You may never know, but it's possible for a 1,000 Yard Post-divorce Darren Waller comeback season.

Karma for winning all the super bowls. I hate the giants so much. Coast by with top 10 defense lines of all time and I have to hear how Eli is a hofer. Fuck the Vagiants

We might've missed it, but apparently Lloyd Howell - the executive director of the NFLPA - resigned last night.

Lloyd Howell has resigned as executive director of the NFL Players Association, citing distractions his leadership has caused in recent weeks.
"Two years ago, I accepted the role of Executive Director of the NFLPA because I believe deeply in the mission of this union and the power of collective action to drive positive change for the players of America's most popular sport," Howell said in a statement released late Thursday night. "Our members deserve a union that will fight relentlessly for their health, safety, financial futures, and long-term well-being. My priority has been to lead that fight by serving this union with focus and dedication.
"It's clear that my leadership has become a distraction to the important work the NFLPA advances every day. For this reason, I have informed the NFLPA Executive Committee that I am stepping down as Executive Director of the NFLPA and Chairman of the Board of NFL Players effective immediately. I hope this will allow the NFLPA to maintain its focus on its player members ahead of the upcoming season."
Howell has come under scrutiny since ESPN reported he has maintained a part-time consulting job with the Carlyle Group, a private equity firm that holds league approval to seek minority ownership in NFL franchises.
That followed the revelation that the NFLPA and the league had a confidentiality agreement to keep quiet an arbitrator's ruling about possible collusion by owners over quarterback salaries.
The latest issue was an ESPN report Thursday that revealed two player representatives who voted for Howell were not aware that he was sued in 2011 for sexual discrimination and retaliation while he was a senior executive at Booz Allen.
"I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish at the NFLPA over the past two years," Howell said. "I will be rooting for the players from the sidelines as loud as ever, and I know the NFLPA will continue to ensure that players remain firmly at the center of football's future."

Isnt there some sort of scandal going on where the NFL owners and NFLPA did a "ill keep quiet about your fuckup if you keep quiet about mine" thing?
I’m just assuming it has to do with just how many players get arrested every off season and this being a token sacrifice play.

Well, that and the article mentioning Howell is part of a group that the league’s given approval to seek minority ownership, there’s a conflict of interest if I’ve ever seen one.

…or the whole “We TOTALY didn’t collude with the owners to keep QB contracts down” after the Browns gave Watson THAT much guaranteed money.

The steelers giving a defensive end 40 million a year fucked up everything alot more then that. Didn't the mediocre qb from San Francisco get 50 mil a year. Nfl owners being idiots as usual

allegedly howell was putting his trips to strip clubs on his NFLPA expense account or some shit too

NFL front offices getting in funny pissing contests is always great. the browns give myles garrett forty million a year, and the browns are the steelers' rival except when they're not because the steelers want to big brother them, except when they are because the steelers want to big brother them even MOAR, so the steelers have to give watt forty-ONE million a year

To be fair, basketball isn't as much of a contact heavy sport compared to football. Plus that CTE scandal from a few years back ruffled a number of higher ups in the NFL.
Well the CTE stuff has the NFL shook for good reason.

If, at any point, players manage to get together and sue either the NFL or a college for knowing about the risks of neurodegenerative disorders and not telling players then that's the end of football. Insurers aren't going to cover it anymore and colleges aren't going to open themselves up to that liability.

That'll never happen primarily because the NFLPA is a corrupt, inept, and powerless organization as the recent collusion scandal has only highlighted. "WE STAND BEHIND OUR MAN! He dindu nuffin!" aaannnd he's resigned.
