TBF, he was an undrafted guy. No risk and relatively solid reward if they can get him on the practice squad to buy in to the "you can't play at 450 lbs in the NFL" idea.
Shilo Sanders and Desmond Watson were probably both more of a hey let's do something fun for the fans kind of thing.

Shilo's not athletic enough for the pros and Watson was constantly in trouble for his weight at UF so the chances of either of them working out were pretty close to zero.

The Browns cut Diontae Johnson and the Giants cut Tommy DeVito.
You made me think this happened again, which would have been really funny. That was a story from Dec 2023.

Belichick is one of those dudes who understands football at such a fundamentally technical that it requires a certain type of player to understand WTF he means when he's talking about it. A great example is his 10 minute diatribe on long snappers (See below). There's a HUGE difference between the words he's saying and the meaning behind those words, and only a select few could ever really get it. Tom Brady was one, and history ensues. People like to shit on BB with "Well, he sucked without Tom and Tom won a Superbowl in Tampa", but I doubt Tom is a quarter of the player he is without BB. And visa versa, the Patriots//BB don't have multiple dynasties without the QB who was able to communicate so effectively with BB.

This is what Bill Belichick should be doing, not coaching UNC. He should sit down in front of a camera everyday and autisticly explain the ins and outs of every aspect of the game of football in a long winded Paul Harrell esque diatribe. Id buy a DVD box set of that.

Speaking of New Orleans and their already lost season, it was really funny a few weeks back when Archie Manning said that the only way his grandson declares for the draft this year is if New Orleans has the #1 pick this spring, only for Arch to then drop his own interview basically saying "I don't know what grandpa is talking about, it's not the 1970's anymore" less than a day later.

Minnesota reacquired Adam Thielen from Carolina along with a conditional 7th round pick in 2026 and a 5th rounder in 2027 for a 5th rounder in 2026 and a 4th in 2027.

The Ravens extended safety Kyle Hamilton for $100.4 million over four seasons.

Tommy DeVito got claimed off waivers by the Patriots.

I hate the new way of naming every alternate jersey.

Also wearing all black alts in Miami heat - they really thought that through.
