t least there's nothing that the football Hall of Fame could do as stupid as integrating the negro league stats into MLB stats. Holy shit, what an absolutely retarded choice that was.
Yeah, I hated that shit. The argument is that all the great black players couldn't play in MLB, but that goes both ways with great white players not playing in the Negro League. They should have been kept separate.

inb4 Chappell Roan or Billie Eilish gets chosen to perform at the 2027's Superbowl halftime show and starts ranting about abortion or some other retarded shit

Ah, the Pro Bowl - the game literally no one pretends to give even half a shit about, players or fans. Why the fuck is it on a Tuesday?

The fact it’s a glorified scrimmage and they seem to care more about the skill challenges probably doesn’t help that. The only thing even remotely amusing about this is the Browns getting to clam they have a Pro-BowL QB like that even matters at all anymore…

The NFL has to be truly perplexed by the complete inability of anyone to give a shit about the Pro Bowl. Preseason games get better ratings than the NBA Finals, they have a huge primetime event for the schedule release, the draft is fucking Lollapalooza in a different city every year, yet no one will ever care about the Pro Bowl no matter what. They're gonna have to do something truly out of the box to get people to tune in

Well, Philly got rid of the terrorist they had as an OC, but now it looks like the Eagles have a new problem - Fangio is considering retiring.

Sure, he's expected to come back for 1 more year, but considering how the defense carried the team and the scramble to scoop of Coordinators to make Coaches for like, half the league, Fangio leaving would probably be Defcon 1 for the Eagles.

Did people care about the Pro Bowl slightly more back when it was held in Hawaii? But then again, that State's budget is also heavily mismanaged, with things like the Skyline rail money pit, and now they're going to demolish the old Aloha Stadium, which was already destined to fail because of the idiots who thought that building a Stadium with exposed steel in a tropical State with exposure to salt air was a good idea, to build a new one.

It's always been more of a glamour event than an actual football game, between star players declining going because they don't want to risk injuries and defenses just flat out not trying (no seriously, look at the 10 most watched Pro Bowls since 2000 - the lowest scoring of them was still 51 combined points, with the record still going to 2012 with a 51-49 Score), but at least before it used to be an actual game of football rather than Flag Football with Skills challenges.

>people are defending Brady Baby Belichick

He doesn’t deserve the Hall of Fame. He almost ruined Brady’s career with his cheating. Belichick deserves to go toil on the Cleveland Browns until his girlfriend poisons him.

Controversial opinion, the Pro Bowl is a glorified media day, and it should dive into it more.
Pro Bowl should be a ESPN clip farm factory mill.
It would actually be 100% better if they pivoted away from it having to have anything related to do with football.
I'd 100% watch a Pro Bowl Squid Games knockoff. It would be hilarious.

The ideas they have that aren't really football related are usually the best ones already, they just need tweaking.
If they swapped the Dodgeball event balls with smaller, rubber balls, it would actually be pretty fun.
The Madden idea isn't bad, but EA/NFL needs to implement multiple player games. 3v3 games instead of 1v1s.

Hell, make them play basketball. Most of them can probably dunk ffs.
It's pretty obvious that the players have more fun doing non-football related events, generating better moments to capture, and encouraging star players to actually join instead of opting out.

More fun screen time with a team's favorite stars of the year is how kids become fans of players, and therefore, the league.

Players were less likely to skip out when the game represented a paid trip to Hawaii instead of the Bay Area in February, yes. Nothing is stopping Stafford from playing this week, but he bowed out to be replaced by Jared Goff (lol) anyways. Kelce knew he would be free in February two months ago, he withdrew and Kincaid is playing now. It's sourced from AI and I had to beat it a bit to get me a list I even remotely trusted (the initial data set was godawful, I'm now even more skeptical of any football stats I grab from ChatGPT instead of paying for StatMuse), but here's who all withdrew:

AFC:
Josh Allen, Zay Flowers, Brock Bowers, Travis Kelce, TJ Watt, Jalen Ramsey, Justin Herbert, Joe Alt, Quinn Meinerz, Quinton Nelson, Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, Chris Jones (not in Super Bowl, just withdrew, 13 total, pretty sure Alt *can't* play, so maybe reduce that to 12.)
Drake Maye & Christian Gonzales (Super Bowl conflict)

NFC:
Matthew Stafford, George Kittle, Quinyon Mitchell, Tristan Wirfs, Micah Parsons, Jalen Carter (6 total, reduced to 5 because Micah Parsons has the same problem Joe Alt has)
Sam Darnold, Devon Witherspoon, JSN, Rashid Shaheed, Demarcus Lawrence, Leonard Williams (6 total, Super Bowl conflict)

So the AFC is down an entire starting side of the ball, and then some, of its star players just deciding to skip it. NFC isn't as bad, with more than half their absences due to being in the FUCKING SUPER BOWL. If you're an invested AFC fan, why even watch? To see Calen Bullock lightly shove a guard? To see Shedeur or Flacco and continue to laugh at the Browns front office? Like, the best offensive stuff you're going to see from the replacements is maybe Tee Higgins leaning into his ability to juke because they're playing flag football.

Personally I'd move it back and allow selected players who made the SB be allowed to participate. What's the point of voting on the "best players" if a chunk aren't available to participate?

Thr pro bowl used to be played after the superbowl so those players could participate. I'm guessing the NFL didn't like the gap between the championship games and the superbowl so they put the pro bowl in that slot.

If you think the pro bowl was bad, their used to be a 3rd place game but it was quickly scraped because everyone hated it

If you want to make it interesting, make the Pro Bowl the winner of the SB versus all the voted pro-bowlers. The winners vs the absolute best the rest of the league has to offer. No bad secondary to exploit, no kicker that is half blind, no backups or bench riders shitting up the field. I guarantee that most SB champ teams would get stomped into the dirt under those conditions.

Also, with it coming out that Jay-Z is a legit kid diddler hopefully the NFL cuts ties and we start getting good halftime shows again.

Listen here, craKKKa, yous just mad that wes better dan you at Jackie Robinson Ball! The only reason the vast majority of Negro Leaguers were out of work after the leagues collapsed was because of raycism o algo.
