Ads gets made to try to trick the dumbest demographic that spends the most money on whatever product is getting pushed. A lot of millenials in the US grew up during a time where consumerism was at an all time high and as a result we became addicted to shopping. That's why you see so many commercials aimed at millenial women and boomers, they're the biggest suckers when it comes to this shit and also the biggest purveyors of nostalgia.
