Like most of America’s broken corporations and institutions, the National Football League has completely bent the knee to the radical Black Lives Matter lobby, thus potentially guaranteeing its own demise as fed-up former fans flee in search of sanity.
After years of pushing back against disgraced former NFL star Colin Kaepernick’s widely disliked national anthem protests, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued an apologetic video statement Friday reversing course on everything.

“It has been a difficult time for our country, in particular black people in our country. First my condolences to families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Marquez Arbery and all the families who have endured police brutality,” he said.
So far this year, 172 white people versus 88 black people have been killed by the police. Moreover, there’s no evidence to support the thesis that the killings of Floyd and Taylor were motivated by racism, though some evidence has emerged in Arbery’s case.
“We the National Football League condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell continued. “We the National Football League admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We the National Football League believe Black Lives Matter.”
Except of course for when blacks are killed by fellow blacks, as was the case with deceased retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn, whom the evidence suggests was killed by one of the black BLM rioters seen below:

It’s true that the NFL does contain a disproportionate number of black men, raising questions over why the left hasn’t targeted it for its lack of diversity.
However, it’s unclear how multimillionaire NFL athletes — some of whom have been allowed to continue playing despite having been caught on film beating women — are in any way, shape or form oppressed …

His groveling statement came a day after some of the NFL’s biggest stars dropped a video PSA complaining about their right to protest and demanding the league bend the knee to their demands.

What’s unclear is whether Goodell realizes what now awaits the NFL. Millions of the league’s fans are conservatives who have little room in their hearts for racial grievance-mongering, false narratives, double standards and abject lies.
And as it stands, a large chunk of these conservatives appear ready and willing to permanently abandon the NFL not only over the league’s capitulation to the BLM lobby but also over NFL star player Drew Brees’ betrayal of the American flag.

UFC doesn't play the anthem before their events in the US, and nobody shits themselves over that.

While part of me likes the anthem as an exercise in public singing (something that doesn't really happen much anymore), I recognize that it's just pointless jerking off of said country.

With Ezekiel Elliot being maybe the only exception, RBs that have gotten these huge extensions over the past few seasons have severely underperformed. I'm not surprised, and I don't blame any team that's not willing to throw big, long term deals at backs when these contracts have been notoriously bad for the past 5 seasons at least.

It's never worth paying big bucks for a running back. They are the most injury-prone position in football, and have the shortest average careers out of any position, if my memory serves me correct. You're much better off drafting a new RB and investing that cap space elsewhere.

Or why they salute veterans at matches. What does patriotism really have to do with non international sporting events anyways? In the NBA and NHL it makes a bit more sense as there are teams from multiple countries (Canada and US) but why if its just one country?
