RIP to the greatest NFL coach of all time.

Don Shula had 21 INT as a DB, was part of a 15-player trade, played for Paul Brown, coached Johnny Unitas and Dan Marino, won 347 NFL games, won two Super Bowls, coached the NFL's only perfect team (1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0), and was a wildly successful businessman.

He is survived by 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandsons.

"BREAKING: NFL owners will vote next week on a resolution that would improve a team's draft position if it hires a person of color as head coach or general manager, per sources. Currently there are only 2 black GMs & 4 HCs of color, matching 17-year low"

As someone pointed out in the replies, just wait for Belichick to hire a minority GM purely for the draft spot

Uhhh huh, well guess my Chargers will win something by having Anthony Lynn as head coach.

Hires a Nigger off the street for a joint and a bottle of jack, locks him in a cage 364 days, lets him out once to dance with the mascot.

Are there enough Kiwis interested in fantasy football to the point where we could run our own league? Appreciate the fact that this thread isn't very active but then it is the off season right now.
I'd be intersted.

He's done. If you get 'missing 404' just hit refresh.

Well, Drew Brees has been cancelled now. Didn't see that coming.
I hope he just retires (I have a personal interest from the NFC). Then the crying O'leans fans will cry more when they realize they are back to the Ain'ts. He already gave them a team friendly deal. No need to put up with this faggotry--let them die on the vine.
Drew Brees didn’t do anything wrong except voice his own opinion. Key word: OPINION

Plus on the bright side, one is on the verge of being a Hall of Fame quarterback along with Aaron Rogers (even if the latter technically caved by joining the mob to “cancel” Brees). Meanwhile on the other side, one is still unemployed and was used as a pawn due to his literal publicity stunt that both ratings and attendance continued to plummet until the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

The point is, Brees should not have apologized, but I guess he still has to play the “make all sides happy” card so he still has some popularity.

Right or wrong, we're in a time where white people have to apologize for being upset that their stores were broken into and looted because "it's only property" and "white privilege."

NFL pledges allegiance to BLM. ‘Go to hell,’ says Mark Levin, on behalf of law-abiding Americans

Like most of America’s broken corporations and institutions, the National Football League has completely bent the knee to the radical Black Lives Matter lobby, thus potentially guaranteeing its own demise as fed-up former fans flee in search of sanity.
After years of pushing back against disgraced former NFL star Colin Kaepernick’s widely disliked national anthem protests, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued an apologetic video statement Friday reversing course on everything.

Listen:

“It has been a difficult time for our country, in particular black people in our country. First my condolences to families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Marquez Arbery and all the families who have endured police brutality,” he said.
So far this year, 172 white people versus 88 black people have been killed by the police. Moreover, there’s no evidence to support the thesis that the killings of Floyd and Taylor were motivated by racism, though some evidence has emerged in Arbery’s case.
“We the National Football League condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell continued. “We the National Football League admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We the National Football League believe Black Lives Matter.”
Except of course for when blacks are killed by fellow blacks, as was the case with deceased retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn, whom the evidence suggests was killed by one of the black BLM rioters seen below:

“I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much-needed change in this country,” the NFL commissioner added. “Without black players, there would be no National Football League. And the protests around the country are emblematic of the centuries of silence, inequality and oppression of black players, coaches, fans and staff.”
It’s true that the NFL does contain a disproportionate number of black men, raising questions over why the left hasn’t targeted it for its lack of diversity.
However, it’s unclear how multimillionaire NFL athletes — some of whom have been allowed to continue playing despite having been caught on film beating women — are in any way, shape or form oppressed …
“We are listening, I am listening and I will be reaching out to players who have raised their voices and others on how we can improve and go forward for a better and more united NFL family,” Goodell’s statement concluded.
His groveling statement came a day after some of the NFL’s biggest stars dropped a video PSA complaining about their right to protest and demanding the league bend the knee to their demands.

“We will not be silenced. We assert our right to peacefully protest. It shouldn’t take this long to admit,” they declared.

“So, on behalf of the National Football League, this is what we, the players, would like to hear you state: ‘We the National Football League condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. We the National Football League admit wrong in silencing our players from peacefully protesting. We the National Football League believe Black Lives Matter.'”
Yet only two months earlier, the NFL’s top brass of multimillionaires had implored frustrated, struggling Americans to stay at home, even if it meant seeing their businesses be destroyed or skipping their family members’ funerals.
Watch:

Goodell’s rush to bow to this radical lobby isn’t surprising given as virtually every institution across America has done similarly:

What's missing from these protests and the coverage thereof is any awareness or recognition that despite their superficially radical rhetoric and symbolism, they are fully supported by the government, corporate, cultural, media, and technocratic power centers of US society

What’s unclear is whether Goodell realizes what now awaits the NFL. Millions of the league’s fans are conservatives who have little room in their hearts for racial grievance-mongering, false narratives, double standards and abject lies.
And as it stands, a large chunk of these conservatives appear ready and willing to permanently abandon the NFL not only over the league’s capitulation to the BLM lobby but also over NFL star player Drew Brees’ betrayal of the American flag.

1. Adios Goodell and NFL. If you think so little of your fellow citizens and so many of your fans, who are law-abiding, people-loving Americans, and law-enforcement that protects all of you and your mostly taxpayer-subsidized stadiums, then go to hell.

I was a life-long Dallas Cowboy fan, remember wearing my Blue and Silver Cowboys jacket every day to elementary school with pride. After witnessing the Drew Brees Psy-op this week against US Veterans and Patriots, I vow to walk away from the @NFL permanently. #ripNFL

During Kaepernick’s kneeling protests back in 2016, the league reportedly lost millions of fans and millions of dollars. It’s unclear how much it’ll lose this time.

Recently bought a new, small TV to watch the NFL. Still in the box since otherwise don't watch TV. Believe the TV will remain in the box. Believe the NFL season will be very interesting this year. They just keep driving away the people who have money to buy the shit they flog. Blacks overall don't make that much money. Roger, get woke, go broke. NFG.

Imagine not watching something you enjoy because somebody takes a knee during the special song

Literally never understood why this bothers anybody, it’s a football game not a military rally. I wouldn’t care if they skipped the anthem altogether
UFC doesn't play the anthem before their events in the US, and nobody shits themselves over that.

While part of me likes the anthem as an exercise in public singing (something that doesn't really happen much anymore), I recognize that it's just pointless jerking off of said country.

Dalvin Cook is apparently going to hold out unless he gets a new contract from the Vikings. As talented as he is, I don't think he's going to get what he wants. With Ezekiel Elliot being maybe the only exception, RBs that have gotten these huge extensions over the past few seasons have severely underperformed. I'm not surprised, and I don't blame any team that's not willing to throw big, long term deals at backs when these contracts have been notoriously bad for the past 5 seasons at least.

It's never worth paying big bucks for a running back. They are the most injury-prone position in football, and have the shortest average careers out of any position, if my memory serves me correct. You're much better off drafting a new RB and investing that cap space elsewhere.

CMC is the only exception, but at $16M/yr is still extremely expensive. He was 3rd is rushing yards and 2nd in receptions in the league (behind Michael Thomas and ahead of DeAndre Hopkins) & hasn't missed a game--the ultimate workhorse.

All this, while running behind a average O-Line unlike the stellar Cowboys line.

I didn't count CMC because he put up those numbers while he was still on his rookie contract. Hoping he can repeat that success now that he's getting paid. We'll see if Matt Rhule can help turn Carolina around.

Or why they salute veterans at matches. What does patriotism really have to do with non international sporting events anyways? In the NBA and NHL it makes a bit more sense as there are teams from multiple countries (Canada and US) but why if its just one country?
