The Official Simpsons Griefing Thread

Too be fair that episode had a nice touch. There's a part where a wall is covered in "Owner of the Month" plaques at the power plant and one of them is the two Germans from Christ knows what season ages ago.

But yeah the show is too old now. Remember watching an episode after ages and they have like iPhones and shit. It's just not right.

Actually they're called "MyPhones" in-universe. I shit you not. They made episodes about that.

There's also "blocko" blocks, an obvious parody of LEGO®.

I can watch a newer Simpsons episode and kind of enjoy it, although all the ones I've seen have been consistently inferior to the older ones. I more or less stopped watching the show regularly since around 2009ish.

It sounds like it's declining in quality even more, especially with Krabappel's VA passing away. Who's the new teacher now?

It's just not right.
The old tube set in the couch gag being replaced by an LCD one also seems a little off. It's a minor thing though.

I feel like The Simpsons has reached a point where the best and most interesting thing it could do is go out with a bang and end. The powers that be should have let it die with dignity in the last decade; it's limped on since then because there's no reason for FOX to give up the revenue.

I was trying to think of a plausible reality where it would have concluded by at least 08, but since no amount of money is too much for FOX it's hard to say. I do know that as the show's viewership was tilting downwards they were desperate to strike oil again, but it never happened.

I threw on this season for background noise. I was surprised to see the Halloween episode because they never did a non-Treehouse of Horror one before. It was pretty good, I even liked it better than the actual Treehouse episode.

The problem I have with gags like that is that it feels lazy. Like they're saying, "Hey, I know you don't much like the show now, but remember those episodes you loved? Weren't those great? LAUGH YOU BASTARDS!"

I'd say it was good from seasons 1-13, I'm going a little higher then most people, when it gets to seasons 11-13 there are episodes that I think are bad, but also some episodes I really like.
The stories get lazy around that time but they still have some good gags here and there.

See with me, I feel that while they're cute every now and again. In a series like this, one that's been beyond shit for over a decade at this point. It just makes you want to watch the episode(s) the new one is making a reference to.
