The last time I was excited for a Simpsons episode was hearing that Bart Joins a Boy Band was the next episode.

I was excited for the possibilities.

Then I saw the episode. I never watched a new episode after that.

I read somewhere in this thread that Jean wanted to end the show, but Disney took over and commissioned new seasons. It would be easy for him to claim that after the fact, though, so idk.
