Hey everyone, welcome to the pickle thread! A thread where you post about all things pickle related including funny pictures of pickles, talk about pickles and what kinds of pickles you like, the culinary art of pickling, pretty much everything about pickles!

Guiz i gotta confession to make... i never ever had a pickle in my life. I dont know where to buy dem in the UK

please dont judge me :(

Pickling cucumbers are also known as Kirby cucumbers. The PLU code for them is 4596.

I love Boar's Head and Ba-Tampte brand pickles.

Call me picky with my pickles, but I cannot STAND pickles that are all yellowish with yellow dye. They have to be GREEN, no trace of yellow. The inside of the pickle should be light green, reminiscent of an original cucumber almost.

Heh, my brother would hate living with you. They serve those green pickles at Wendy's on all of their burgers, and every time we go, he always sits in the car and complains because of them. The only reason he'll ever go there is when he doesn't have enough money for Whataburger, and yes, it is entirely because of the pickles.

As for me, I love pickles of all sorts. Green pickles, yellow pickles, sweet pickles, sour pickles, uncircumcised pickles pickles that come from a plastic pouch at the movie theater, any of them, really. I'm not too picky about my pickles. :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

Oh yeah, they did have deep fried pickles at the Cherry Festival last year. Wish I got one.

I also eat everyone's pickles that they serve with sandwiches at restaurants if they won't eat them (most of the time they aren't yellow and gross!). I'm a pickle whore.

...and my current favorite drinks use pickle brine (picklebacks and pickle martinis)
I love cocktails with dill pickle brine, whenever I'm at a place that make's em. The best Bloody Mary I've had was the "Monster Mary" at Haute Dish in Minneapolis, which had lots of dill & garlic in it, a dill pickle spear on a long skewer with olives, grilled peppers, a pickled tomato, and a chunk for salami at the top. Everything was good, but the pickle brine and spear is what set it apart another "Bloody Mary with stuff on top of it."

One of the few non-shitty traits or predilections I inherited from my pencildick father, is a taste for pickled veggies. I love almost all kinds of Japanese tsukemono, Korean kimchee, deli-style dill pickles, those nuclear green dill hamburger slices, pickled tomatoes, and pickled cauliflower. I'd be lying if I said I don't take a few shots of brine, every so often, as well. Fried pickle chips are also pretty effin' awesome.

In regards to Chris' related phobia of dicks, I seem to also like most food shaped like a penis. I think it was the movie Superbad, which posits that most of the best food in the world is shaped like a dick. I'd be lying if the shape wasn't at least part of what I enjoy, because it's amusing to see who freaks out and who cheers when I deepthroat a Sheboygan bratwurst.

EDIT: :pickle: :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

Oh I am SO going to that. Because I'm a pickleniggo.
My grandfather makes his own pickles. :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

I wish I could go, but I live in Cherry country (even though the cherry festival actually doesn't happen on cherry harvest, which isn't until later July...)

I want my pickles to be "pickled", and to be served either on a burger, or a sidedish.

Oh how could I forget this bit of info:
When I was really young, like seven maybe, my parents bet me I wouldn't drink the brine from the jar. So I did it. It wasn't like a chugged it, I just sipped from the jar and that was that. I didn't win anything but an odd sense of pride. :?
