Here she is recognising that the root of her substance abuse issues is a desire for disassociation.But she doesn't make the connection that her trans identity is the same thing. In my opinion trans identity is the exact opposite of becoming your "true self", it's about constructing a false self that sits between you and the world in order to not have to deal with what you perceive as the "real" you. It's the ultimate form of psychological disassociation. No wonder so many sexual assault victims poon out.

This is why we need to have armed security in schools or at least allow teachers to carry their EDC. I'd even say make it a license dependant thing where they have to put a minimum of say 4-8 hours a month in at the range.
