Yeah, they call it drag.
To be fair, if they really mean drag, as in exaggerated awful makeup and wig and fake huge boobs and bum, this is nothing like really dressing and looking like a woman, so I'll give them that. Of course, the part about being the other sex is not fulfilled here, but well. They claim it is.
If they mean drag as in simply being dressed as the other sex... Well, From what I read, the explanations to this behaviour are the following:
- They feel more comfortable dressing feminine as trans men or transmasc non-binary, because "when I was presenting as a woman there were all these expectations and I've felt like I have to be feminine. Now I can be feminine because I want to, not because of society's expectations!"
- They hated their female body or being referred to as women ("gender dysphoria") but not being feminine, so after they chope those tits and take T, they feel like they can dress how they like instead of clothes that hides their body/makes them more masculine (in their mind, anyway).
- For "fun" and "self expression". "Clothes are not what makes one men or women! This is just a costume!". " Trans men don't own you masculinity".
- To "smash the binary".
