I crochet but only occasionally look at youtube crochet videos. That lil pooner's "Will it Rat?" video showed up in my recommendations a couple days before I saw it posted here.


ETA: While I'd recommend "making shit with yarn" to anyone as a quiet, clean, portable hobby that's great for teaching kids the value of slow incremental gains, crochet is much more feminine historically. Men knitting was very common at various points in history, particularly among sailors, shepherds, and others who have to be ready to act at a moment's notice but spend most of the time not doing much. Crochet, otoh, was first used to make decorative trimmings for fancy lady's garments and became popularized as a means of making elaborate lace curtains, doilies, etc. There's even a possibility the term "hooker" comes from Irish lace making girls being so underpaid they'd turn tricks to make ends meet. Even today, knitting is generally seen as somewhat more practical, producing a comfortable fabric appropriate for garments like sweaters, whereas crochet creates a thicker, stiffer fabric good for blankets and decorative objects. Given how obsessed all flavors of tranny are with gender roles, if this little pooner knew the history of her hobby, she'd probably switch.

It's definitely not a masculine hobby, but I really could not care less if any man took it up. Indeed if he had talent in it, I'd encourage any useful craft in anyone.
