English is a language ripe with synonyms to pluck, so I'm sure I've called it the "restroom," but almost always "bathroom" if we're being formal. "Potty" or "head" a lot, in the context of "I'm going to" or "so there I was {humorous anecdote probably cat-related}."

I'd be most likely to say "restroom" if I were asking to use someone else's.

We (Leafs) use bathrooms/washrooms interchangeably. Quebecers will often have the shower/tub in a separate room with the toilet in another, but that might not be the case anymore.
