any thoughts on that competition? Personally I don't care either way because all the competition seems to be missing the absolute basics that made the Sims charming in the first place (mainly a lighthearted tone and unique separation from our world by way of Simlish and Plumbobs) and I don't trust any of these competitors to have better monetary practices than EA (especially not Paradox), so I'm curious to know if I'm alone or just echoing a crowd.
Paralives visually looks like a special class kid with a propeller hat drew everything. I’m waiting until I see the final product, but I bet they’re too far gone to change the art style drastically now. Hopefully mods are deep, or I’ll probably skip it.
Don’t care for their marketing, or the people they’ve picked for PR outreach. It’s a little worrying.

Life by You might be the most promising gameplay wise. The fact that they have Rod Humble, and I think other former Maxis employees, makes me trust it the most. They might recapture the best elements of Sims gameplay.
It also doesn’t look the best though.

Inzoi is still too young as an announcement, but it looks like a ram eater currently. If optimized correctly, and cleaned up, it might be solid.
Some of the animations look good, and the world control they claim it’ll have
shits on Sims easily already.

I don’t know that I trust any of them on monetization. I also don’t think we’ll see EA find their soul, but if they sell well enough, they might improve out of fear.

Inzoi’s graphics are way too creepily realistic for my taste. One of my favorite things about the Sims series is the cartoony style and the whacky elements that probably can’t be replicated in a game with such hyper realistic graphics.

The Sims Merch Store has officially launched, and as expected, is absolutely brimmed with overpriced merch that Simmers will go full CONSOOME mode on:

The Trailer for the now-confirmed For Rent EP is out:

What I don't understand is the choice of music for the reveal trailer, given that the new Neighborhood is based on Thailand.
Funny you say that as a friend sent me a funny pic on Facebook today entitled Welcome to Pattaya. Put a green crystal over their head and you've got yourself an expansion pack.

The world map for Tomarang has been leaked, and appears to have only 9 lots:

As a comparison, the infamous My Wedding Stories game pack neighborhood, Tartosa, had 9 lots. EA's doing the classic old "sell less content for the same price" tactic, and not to mention that the TS4 engine is running into performance issues with all of the EPs, GPs, SPs, and other DLC, despite it stripping many features from previous Sims games, to "IMPROVE PERFORMANCE".

The lot sizes for those 9 lots have also been leaked, and there aren't any large lot sizes. (50x40, 50x50, 64x64):

More info about the For Rent EP has been revealed, and it's mostly bad:

Loading Screens to go to another apartment unit is an instant fail. And the question about mold and zombies, means that someone has been playing/watching too much The Last of Us lately.

This one just seems particularly bizarre as a concept. As shitty as apartments were in City Living, they're in the game. Why is an entire pack being made off of a concept that is already in Sims 4? If this was the Sims 2 or 3 it would be about something entirely unique while improving the apartments from City Living as a side thing (or even being in the patch for free).

How do you go to this, from this....
Christ these are soulful. I need to play modded Sims 1 again.
Man, 2000s era of Sims was soul. After that, it's either soulless or soylent :sigh:
