I bet my left hand it will have an online feature, so players will be able to visit their friends' sims and do things together. Much like Second Life.

I do wonder how these online features will work, if one of the players is someone who loves to kill Sims. Would killing someone else's Sim cause you to get banned from the game?

Good question. I suppose it would be similar to Animal Crossing: you can change the settings so that the players visiting your place can't pick up shit and other things. Similarly, your friends' sims wouldn't be able to destroy stuff in your lot or try to kill you.
Given how "family-friendly" the current game is.

If The Sims 5 has "online" multiplayer it will be like Sims 3 SimsPort or Simcity 5's resource sharing. I highly doubt that EA would put in the effort to make actual simultaneous multiplayer, so it will probably just consist of other players' Sims showing up in your game ala Spore.

If people can actually play together like The Sims Online, the game will probably do into a mode similar to community lots where you have nothing but live mode available, or just have online community lots and not be able to visit other people's homes.

The Sims Team has revealed their First Look at the Pronouns update for The Sims 4. I do wonder if this feature will still be a thing for countries that don't recognize the entire alphabet soup of genders, as they intend to release this feature in 18 different languages, although it will be released for the English locales first.

Also, given the current state of Battlefield 2042, in which that game's development had similar issues to TS4's development (game was developed as something different, and had to be changed part way into development, and both games were missing features that were in past games), but TS4 is still getting updates as it turns 8 this year, while I don't see BF2042 getting updates past this year, would it have been better for TS4 to have failed like how BF2042 and SimCity 2013, or was it a good thing that it sold well enough for EA to drag out support for this game?

The fact that the pronouns aren't going to be Simlish nonsense to really drive home how stupid this is? A sad but expected outcome.

Battlefield is a competitor in a much more popular and lucrative genre, while Sims is niche nonsense with a heavily female leaning. I think managing to fuck up something that was supposed to sell well, regardless of quality, might push for a redo just to get the lost money back. (In some cases, not all.) If you oil the right wheels, these companies tend to make enough to justify pumping out shit yearly - or at least used to.

If the Sims sold poorly, it would be exclusive to mobile phones (the Sims on mobile is an abomination). The only reason they're still putting even a semblance of effort into this game is probably because it's good for the woke quota, clearly isn't working with a full team or anyone worth all that much money, and offers them a share of a pie that no other Western giant has attempted to dig into.

In short: I cannot see it turning out better for the franchise, at least back then. I have a lot of complaints about Sims 4, do not get me wrong, but I'm still glad I can play it and bog down my load speeds with a bunch of free mods and content instead of only having the option to wait 5 hours IRL for my pixel person to cook some spaghetti.

Hah, good luck with languages where nouns, adjectives and even verbs have gender, it will take them days to change the whole thing. I wonder if they'll hire translators to do that, or if they have like a translation software or something.

They could put all this effort and money into a pronoun change , hire popular celebrities and influencers to promote the game but wont put effort into making babies a sim with their own personality or even give sims more common sense to know when to be seated during an event. The sims team is so useless. When you have to play this game you have to go in with a great imagination and good mods to make it interesting. The game cant survive on its own.

Anyways is there any modders that block out gender customization or any future pronoun change .

Is the pronoun thing optional? I hope its not something we have to be forced to do because just like the tranny tab most people would just ignore it.

When that pronoun shit comes out, I will be turning it right the fuck off.

They should have waited until sims 5 for that. Of course they had to be bullied DAILY by some twitter cunt for them to hobble into the already broken code for this game.

On the bright side, giving your sims "Your Majesty/asdfghjk/bologna" pronouns would be mildly entertaining, at least at first.

And people above are completely right about the gendered languages. I remember playing an Ocarina of Time fan translation and it actually hardcoded the player name as "Link" because the words that would stay the same in English, can vary depending on tense, gender, whether it's an object or a subject, what manner of action is being performed and so on. Obviously, it would be impossible to program every inflection, and every language has different, complex and often illogical rules. I honestly don't think this feature would be included in any version other than the English one.

If you think about it, the difference in woke themes between sims 3 and 4 is pretty wild. 3 only had three gay couples in all the parts and dlcs, and they all were behind a paywalled downloadable city. 4, on the other hand, has a gay in almost every neighborhood, troon body options and now genderspecial pronouns. I genuinely won't be surprised if the next dlc introduces a "gradual medical body transformation kit" or something similar to that.

Gender neutral pronouns are definitely ending with English, although some other languages might get custom pronouns but you have to decide whether the rest of the language is masculine or feminine. I'm fine with the feature existing even if I'll never use it. More customization is never bad. Real talk though, it was only developed because it was easy for English and it will score brownie points with the fanbase while ignoring how anemic the expansions have become. This is why I'll keep sticking to Sims 3.

If they do try to pull Latinx shit with it, there might some good salt from the Spanish language fanbase if anyone can speak taco and translate it. Actual Spanish speakers hate the Latinx shit and get pissed when white Californians try to force it on them.

Eh, some Spanish-speaking countries are starting to accept the "gender neutral" bullshit, which is insane. But yeah, most people really don't give a shit or don't like it, and many players won't give a shit about it in the game.

A familiar face (she was the original director for The Sims 4) is back at EA, and is apparently on the "Positive Play" team, which sounds like even more woke shit.

Hijabs were also added to The Sims 4 base game as well.

The main problem with the sims team or ceo is that they are hiring people who dont play the sims which is why the game sucks ass. This is not entirely EA faults because even if they give little money to the sims team they should be able to create a decent pack with stuff people ask for. When theres no passion there will be lackluster content. The lady who you mention clearly dont give a fuck about the game and probably never played it just like the others. I believe alot of them just took the job to have something on their resume. Didnt a massive amount of sim gurus left before?

At this point though the only people who play The Sims are freakish middle aged women, porn addicts, and teenage girls who want to play virtual dolls and set babies on fire. Their demo is a little hard to pick from if you want wheat instead of chaff.

I know you're dying to see more about the latest kit from the game, so here's the official announcement from EA's website.

Apparently this blond guy is the sim version of Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vittar (whoever the hell that is). I, for one, can't wait to see male townies randomly generated by the game dressed as transvestites from Rio de Janeiro.

The "Boxart" for this kit is also very low-effort, as EA is now incorporating 2D art, instead of the renders used in previous Sims 4 DLCs:

It's not that new, they've been doing it since the Incheon Arrivals kit in October.

The other kits have 3D renders that aren't actually using the in game build mode, so you get things like the window in the Industrial Loft kit boxart not even existing in game until the players got upset about it.
