I genuinely don't know what was wrong with the "sexuality is fluid based on if you want to bone the sim or not, with preferences for certain genders when the sim isn't being played" system that's been in the series from the start. It's not like people won't just go into CAS and turn EA's precious premade lesbians into straight women. And assuming they're not using this system for premade sims and they're set to the default parameters your sims default to, this system barely does anything for most players anyways. The entire grandstanding section about sexual orientation being a fact of life and not being able to be turned off is also negated by the fact that a couple paragraphs up they say you can just change the orientation of your sims at any point. That is definitely not how it works in real life.
I think the feature will be useful to stop uplayed sims and townies from romancing each other.
The Ecolifestyle expansion introduced the neighborhood action plan called "Free Love", which basically makes sims polygamous. So it was common to see sims being romantic with each other when they shouldn't.
For example, I built a "retirement home" where I dump the elder sims until I decide to kill them with the MCCC. There are two female sims now, and they were supposed to be friends, but now they're lovers thanks to that free love thing. So I have to keep checking my families all the time to stop them from turning gay or vice-versa.
Thanks to the neighborhood stories update, the small "reserve" of gay sims I keep for story progression just married the opposite sex and had children.
Now I have to micromanage my game even more, it's not fun.

It's annoying that you have to use a completely unrelated feature to stop sims boning each other because of terrible balancing, but that's the Sims team for you. Honestly, I once again don't really care that much since like the whole pronoun thing the default behavior when making sims seems to correspond to how it was before. I'm just genuinely curious if they're going to go through all their old sims and assign sexualities to them. Because naturally some sims are going to have to be straight as a result, even if they fudge things to over represent gay people, and I see some asshurt arising from that.

The CAS assets and Build and Buy items for the High School EP have been revealed:

The new patch for the game also includes a bug where all Sims in the neighborhood immediately age up, after using CAS.

The SimGurus are already aware of this bug, but why wasn't it caught during testing? Oh wait.

I usually wait a couple of months after a new pack is released before pirating legally downloading it, because at this point I know it will be full of bugs that EA may fix eventually.

Definitely not on Sims4 as it is.

If it was an open world game where I can freely manage the teens and other household sims without loading screen and high school didn't require active micromanagement then I could see it as a neat addition at a over 50% off sale.

Yep, several NPC Sims in the EP are set to be strictly gay and it also seems like you can 100% edit a Sim in CAS and change their sexuality. I can already smell the drama. It also seems like they've gone back and edited Sims from previous packs to generally prefer a certain gender but have also set them to be exploring romantically, so nothing majorly different.

What's the best site to  pirate digitally acquire the games from?
Around a month or so I ran into a dutch website that has most of The Sims games.
It's sims(dot)tarac(dot)nl
You can get the TS4 updates and new packs a few days after their release, it's quite easy to download and has been safe to me so far.

this is pretty common actually when you try taking male or female clothing and putting it on sims of the opposite sex due to the fact the game was never made to do something like that in the first place and it was something they added in hindsight a few years after release
Those are feminine clothes, though, you can see it in the screenshot.

Apparently there was a collaboration with a chick named Aveline to design The Sims 4 Desert Luxe Kit. I checked her Twitter, she's known for building lots, the bitch has a Patreon. Imagine paying to download built houses that you can get for free in The Sims' gallery.
Besides, doesn't that somehow break EA's TOUs? I mean, even if she releases her builds to the public after 30 days (which a very long time for a damn house, let me tell you), certain things from the game, like lots and families, shouldn't be paywalled from the start.

We have our first official Sims 4 lolsuit.
A Sims 4 custom content creator known as Cowbuild is suing Timmssimms for releasing their pay walled content for free, citing "copyright infringement."

According to the EA ToS in regards to charging for mods and custom content, early access content is allowed to be patron or donation-specific but all content should be released to the public after 2-3 weeks.

From my understanding, Cowbuild was one of those people who was keeping stuff paywalled and refused to release it to anyone besides patrons/donors.

This comes after recent rumors spread that cc creator Felixandre was lifting the personal info of patrons and sharing that information in their personal circle of creator friends.

Timmssimms has been one of the people who is circumventing permanent paywalls, which are against ToS, and releasing that content for free. They have only gone after creators breaking the rules and not creators who are sticking to the guidelines set by EA.

If there any interesting updates I'll try my best to share, but there's quite a bit of drama right now regarding The Sims. A lot more than just this.
