this, I don't even really get bothered by mild wokeshit but removing the mod seems like needlessly antagonizing people, EA are just acting like faggots here

It also seems like a deliberate ragebait mod to me what with turning Sims white. Most companies rightfully just roll their eyes and ignore stuff like that, going on a crusade to get it removed gives the mod author the lulz they want.
 
Is The Sims 4 complete yet? I have been tempted to try it. Any Sims 5 game is going to be some online garbage heap. And FreeSO shut down so I think that whole chapter is done, sadly.

Pretty sure I watched a Sims 5 leak at some point. Able to place "extra" items like pillows freely on couches etc. Literally no matter how dogshit Sims 4 and its competitors are, the white women will come running with fluids down their legs once Sims 5 drops. It could be $90 and they'd buy it. "It's cheap compared to $900 of DLC!"

I sort of hope it is an online game. The old one and the freeware ones were a lot of fun. But I would like it to have the community of the 2000s and not 2025.

The issue is that like life there is infinite content to explore, but the issue is that the game engine is old and dying and the technical debt is so great so they likely will never be able to implement anything interesting with their skillset.

So even future packs will be mostly full of recycled content and animations.

I mentioned above that the artstyle has arguably regressed since their first concepts. I personally strongly dislike the extremely flat lighting, lack of shading, and overemphasis on strong linework to carry across detail.

I understand how some want to make sure everyone can access their games, and a good portion of those who play the sims have shit laptops or desktops, but downgrading the graphics and making it this ugly is impressive. It appeals to no one.

Honestly I don't even think it takes all that much to have decent shaders (i.e. even some online browser games are decent-looking), I think it has to be some art director imposing their vision onto the game.
