I'm in the mood for Sims, but Sims 4 is a tumor and Sims 3 has long passed the point of being playable for me (even though I'm regularly using Regul Save Cleaner, deleting old saves I haven't played, using the AwesomeMod patch, etc. I've put about 100 hours into the game on two separate families, which only have three generations between both (1 in one save and 2 in another), but I can't even rotate the camera anymore without severe lag spikes)
awesomemod is not recommended anymore because nraas is the most up to date one.

Is it the same for TS1? I’ve been trying to put it on my mom’s laptop, and all I can find is the collection re-release version.
it seems that your ISP has blocked the sites where you can find it, same as sims 2 ultimate collection from way back, a ton of isp's blocked it but try the internet archive one as i have a good guess that if you try anything from yandex it's probably ISP blocked.
what? do you really want to try and use troongle in fucking 2025 after they have neutered their search engine just like their troon devs? don't even give a glance to brave or cuckcuckgo either, jesus, man.

I've been using all of NRAAS's mods in conjunction with AwesomeMod in a futile attempt to optimize my game as much as possible. It's still mostly unplayable for the time being. :lossmanjack:

try the internet archive one
Can you please link it? I'm not exactly tempted to trust the Internet Archive-- last time I went to them for games, a copy of The Movies nearly gave my PC a virus-- but I'm really running out of other places to look. The Russian site has been quiet since June and the Sims 2 stuff hasn't been touched since last October; the solution they're lauding in the most recent posts got DMCA'd in February and not one fan somehow thought to capture it from before the DMCA.

is it the osab installer you're looking for? I don't think anyone has it or at least no one is willing to share it
if you download the site https://archive.org/details/magipack-games-static-website
it contains the torrents for both sims 1 and sims 2, the old versions but with some community fixes. The website shut down but afaik those are the versions everyone is downloading now anyway since osab refuses to put her installer back up, probably the best you can do for now.
the one i linked before on here is from there and was uploaded here https://ts2.crd.co/
this version isn't bad, it comes with a lot of the community fixes just not the launcher
I uploaded the sims 1 torrent here if people don't want to download the site but want the torrent https://www.mediafire.com/file/p08u4twwokprx7t/The_Sims_Repack_v5.rar.torrent/file
they were both clean when i checked, if your antivirus flags these it might be a little trigger happy?

also I loved the Movies I wish we got a good sequel to that :(

Nrass Story Progression is a performance hog in my experience. The current replacement for AwesomeMod for big fixes and gameplay optimisation is Simler90 mod, it's quite updated and focused on fixing the game. Mind you that it conflicts with some Nrass mods but I need to check which one.

Actually quite nice to play the official Sims 4 with little DLC installed. All the new dogshit "QoL" changes without the content bloat.

It did take me back when they re-did the interaction menus. Shit like flirting being replaced with "PHYSICAL ADMIRATION" or something alike. I don't mind it; was actually surprised that it wasn't already made PG given the target audience of Sims, but it's like 3 extra buttons to flirt. Maybe if each action lasted longer and you didn't have to spam them.

It's always fun to go on Sims 4 on twitch. All the vtubers, faggots, blacks with their tags like "LURKING ENCOURAGED" to farm ad revenue or "SIMSER". It literally is their entire career and only purpose on Twitch. Success is secondary to them being a sims tuber.

On another note: Funny how fast inoi died. Sims truly is a brand-enslavement.

I'm also surprised that EA hasn't done Twitch Drops promotions for TS4, like how most other games do, and EA even does this for their other games like Battlefield and Madden.

EA has release a statement about the Save Corruption issue. / Archive

The Sims 4 Save File Corruption and For Rent Issues: Statement from EA

Table of Contents

Sul Sul Simmers,

We’ve received questions from players with concerns about the For Rent Expansion Pack, and what we’ve been doing to tackle save file issues in The Sims 4.

To address this community concern, we’re providing an update below on:
  1. For Rent issues we’re currently investigating
  2. Current issues with The Sims 4 that might impact saves
  3. How we prevent issues before release
  4. What to do if you’re experiencing serious issues with your game
Nothing is more important to us than the performance of our game and players’ enjoyment of it, and we’ve been investigating these issues thoroughly before providing an update. What we discovered is this is not a single bug, and given the complex variance in devices, setups, packs, and other factors, it’s required extended investigation. With this being shared, let’s dive in.

For Rent

We’ve fixed 29 For Rent issues that the community has reported, and as of August 26, we’re tracking 37 others across 2 different statuses.
  • 26 Issues Currently Being Investigated: This means we’re aware of the community report and it’s going through our internal processes. This can become a lengthy process that ranges from trying to replicate the bug to identifying the cause, working on a fix, testing the fix, or scheduling an update for the fix to come. Our team will share updates as the work continues.
  • 11 Issues Require More Info: This means we’re unable to make progress on this issue until we get more specific information from players who are experiencing it. Save files with the issue occurring is the most helpful for our teams, and you can learn more about how to report issues further down this post.

For Rent

Of these 37, we’re currently aware of 2 issues commonly associated with save corruption that players are experiencing:
  • Lots/Houses disappear in saves featuring a large number of rental units, with 173 votes.
    • We’ve identified a partial fix for this issue and will provide an update once we have more information about the scale of the fix. We won’t mark this as fully resolved until we’re confident we’ve fixed the issue as described by players in this post.
  • White screen when loading the world, with 39 votes.
    • We’re tracking this across PlayStation 4 and looking for more reports.
If this is not your experience with For Rent, and you continue to face issues that specifically relate to this pack, we’d like to receive the info needed to investigate further. If you recognize an issue you’re facing, please drop a comment or a vote – it really helps us prioritize what to tackle next. If your For Rent issue is not listed here, please start a new post here so we can investigate it.

The Sims 4

Let’s look at what issues are impacting save files on The Sims 4 more broadly.

A most severe issue would be if The Sims 4 game is completely unable to be opened and does not launch. We currently have zero confirmed reports of this; if any players are experiencing this, please leave a comment here so we can help troubleshoot.

The next type of serious issue is when a player is able to load the game, but unable to load their save. From what we’ve found in our investigations so far, we’re currently aware of 6 issues that players correlate with save corruption, and this is where we’re investing our focus to resolve.
It’s important to note that just because these issues are not unique to For Rent, they may have connections to For Rent that could be uncovered during investigation. You can expect us to share updates as we find them.

We’re committed to continue investigating these issues and work towards making progress, alongside shipping fixes for other top community concerns. We aim to deliver updates quickly, once we have new or helpful information, to keep players informed of our progress.

Keep reading to learn more about how our team works behind the scenes to identify and address player issues.

Investigating Game Issues

Before we release new content, we complete compliance tests across platforms and multiple levels of quality verification, including playtesting with The Sims team and a paid group of experienced Sims players from the community.

We’re unable to recreate every potential Sims scenario across the different combinations of packs, playstyles, and devices before launch. Once it’s been released, we utilize player feedback to understand what issues are being experienced, by how many people, and any patterns of what might be causing them to aid our resolution.

Another variable is if players use Mods and Custom Content (CC), as we’re unable to test against those in our pre-launch testing. Some mods come with permissions that modify save file structure, which can have unintended consequences out of our control. We have best practices for mod players here, which include disabling mods before any update, and we do our best to let modders know when to expect a base game update via our roadmaps. We also share our TDESC (Tuning Description) files via Discord to help with their updates, as that provides essential information for understanding and modifying data like field names and options.

Reporting Game Issues

If you’re experiencing something that’s impacting your ability to play the game that’s not on these lists, we want to hear about it. If you’re unable to get your The Sims 4 game to load or have a save file that you cannot open anymore, we want to hear from you and review that save file. We’ve created this new thread for any reports that the game is not functioning as expected, as we want to capture the full situation.

Fixing old issues and addressing new ones are both equally important to our team and to players. While many players continue to play without interruption, we understand experiencing these issues is frustrating, and we remain committed to making progress against them. Plus, we’ve seen players ask for information on how to back up save files and improve the overall game performance, which we’ll be sharing soon.

Do people still play the Sims?
I mostly fuck around with two, and occasionally three. At this point with Sims 4 I am really too tired to even run it through the updater etc. There's not much that appeals to me besides dressing them up and the amount of custom content in four. Two even though very limited at times, is still enjoyable. Three has the open world that I love, but at the same time, it can be a little frustrating and I still need some mods to run it properly. It truly depends how I'm feeling and what I want to do. Maybe I will come back to four again once I find the motivation of running the updater, fixing broken mods, etc.
On another note: Funny how fast inoi died. Sims truly is a brand-enslavement.
Besides Inzoi being extremely difficult to run for most sims players, it really lacked a soul to me. I had decent fun even if it made my computer sound like it was on death's door, so I didn't mess with it much. But it felt empty, yes, it's early access and all, but I got bored. Again, the open world is nice though which pulls me towards it. Lots of the hype came from dressing the zois up, which didn't last long of course. Most of those who play sims don't have decent computers to run something like inzoi, so they would probably be pulled towards Paralives. Which will probably not do too well. Whenever someone thinks of life simulations, the only thing they think of is Sims unless someone very old remembers games like Alter Ego from 1986 which is more of a roleplay game mixed with a life sim.

Inzoi had potential to me, but at the end of the day, it felt like "Wow, am I going to run this?" and "This doesn't have much soul in it." It was amusing to see that one guy cry about a lack of gays in it. But there wasn't much to do. I'll keep an eye on any mods for inzoi, updates etc. There were also some people who kept saying how inzoi won't have meaningless microtransactions, when it's run by a korean company, krafton, known for microtransactions. But again, I'm still in the we'll see phase for inzoi as it's still early access. The hype did die down a lot.

In some way I lament this, people do have reasons to not have a good computers. I don't want to be financially putting down on people... but catering to this kind of crowd might have contributed to some problems with game dev today. Performance issues is the top reason why people didn't play Sims 3 back in 2009. But even then graphic and resource wise, both Sims 2 and 3 required quite a decent computer at the time. (I remember not being able to play sims 2 back then on my early 2000s computer). I do think that at the EA still had a small decency to utilize the technology limit (because in 2000s, the 'graphic race' was still a thing.) but since mobile gaming became a thing, optimising for low spec players while cutting out the systems. you can see the players chart for sims 2/3 compared to 4, and how much 4 got a lot more players.

I'm not saying that The Sims needs to be Crysis or Cyberpunk 2077 level of graphic, but it comes with the idea that the game should innovate to utilise the technology at the time for more complex or system intensive systems. Something that Sims 4 ditched completely in its design philosophy (if it had any at all because it's a repurposed online game done in 'mobile game style'). I think this speaks more to the genereal AAA market too. Even the cyberpunk example I made is also disappointing

The Sims has always been my biggest guilty pleasures. My tulpa gfs enjoy watching me play I was playing these games since Sims 1, all the way up till 4. Whilst I do like the art style of 4, it just lacks 3's kino open world. Even the Uni dlc is shit compared to 3, how can they fuck that up? The latest expansion being the fairies is fucking GAY and Cringe. All a nigga wants is some challenge and Fun. Plus more ways to torture my sims

I still have an archive of Sims 4 from around 2020, from before they went ham on the progressive stuff. Sims 2 is generally my goto sims game, never really took to 3 even with the nrass addons, the engine just seemed too volatile.

Yeah I remember try to play Sims 2 on a Celeron 2.8ghz with an Ati Radeon 7000 and only 256MB system RAM. Took about 2 minutes to switch from live to buy mode. They were wise to go with the isometric design for the first game, and save the high end 3D stuff for the console port.

I still remember Sims 3 making death noises on my old computer when I was a kid, and trying to save every other second so I wouldn't lose all progress. Good times. I agree though that the graphics should be better, but they will always keep in mind for those who game on macs and lower end laptops. There were people even bitching about being unable to run inzoi and were surprised because their shitty dell laptop from 2016 or macbook air from 2019 couldn't run it.

Of course it doesn't need extremely high graphics, but it needs to be better both gameplay and graphically. Inzoi had the latter, not the former but I'm withholding too much judgement as it's still early release.

Even with Nraas sims 3 still has issues time after time where I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the fuck did I do. The open world was the main appeal to me, but at the same time I can see how some weren't that fond of it especially when horses, wildlife, and other sims would get stuck.

EA will be releasing the trailer for the upcoming Adventure Awaits EP, which confirms the deliberate leaks of it that occurred earlier:

The Adventure Awaits Trailer is out, and is again mostly reskinned content or content held back intentionally to sell it here as an "EP":

The Imaginary Friend also makes a return, but looks like complete nightmare fuel instead:

And it took OVER 10 YEARS for non-stair diving boards and pool slides to be re-added to TS4:

So a shitty redo of Outdoor Retreat with recycled mechanics from Get Together and the business expansion pack they just released. The only cool thing in the trailer was the custom playgrounds.

I see there's another call for boycott of TS4 due to the game being broken, quality of life sucks, and the Adventure pack is again a bunch of features that should have been in different packs. I wish the boycotts could actually make a bigger dent in EA's wallet, but there are far too many consoomer girls and fags who eat up table scrap slop to let them continue their shitty practices.
