Lilsimsie will be doing a livestream next week to "protest" the EA buyout:

This clearly won't do a damn thing. And I'm surprised they haven't endorsed violence against EA yet, hoping that EA's CEO get's Luigi'd to stop the buyout.

And more low effort Packs have been added to the Marketplace.
I watched some lispy faggot dude talk about all these femoid sims creators. It's like they're living 12 years in the past. No ad disclosure, no recognizing they're reviewing a pack "blindly" that they fucking helped make. Talking well of inzoi without saying "oh btw they sent me a $12k pc". And they get away with it, because women are so wet behind the ears in the online space that they'll see this bitch go "Uhh EA bad!" when she's been riding their cock since teenhood.

Its also just weirdly narcissistic. Aside from porn mods, the most popular sims mods are just normal performance enhancing and depth increasing ones. Like the ones adding more realistic illness or pregnancy or whatever. Forcing the young adult ladies that make up the main demographic (and wouldnt download anti-woke mods in the first place) to play the game exactly the way you want them to seems very petty.
this isn't about the sims though, it's paralives and yeah it's still pretty much some tumblrite shit from the alpha.
not surprising they would block scripting mods and unity is hell to deal with even with bepinex, new unity 6000 fucked up so many people many devs downgraded their games in order to let people mod again.

So, now that the Sims 4 is (presumably, maybe, god we can only hope) all finished, what would you say the best game in the series is?
Sims medieval since it lets you kill people without even needing mods, that game is like the polar opposite of the sims 4 making everything overly santized and cartoony. And their face models looks less pudgy than the sims 3 ones too. Still has its weak points, tho.

I still kinda wish they wouldve done more with the concept, like improving certain gamplay features, exploring different periods and places, or even something completely different but just as strongly themed like an alian planet (the shitty little 'secret' world in the sims 4 with maybe 3 things to interact with doesnt count). It couldve been like a girly/less strategy focused version of all those games like crusader kings.

So, now that the Sims 4 is (presumably, maybe, god we can only hope) all finished, what would you say the best game in the series is?
sims 2, too many nice details, sims 4 still keeps trying to catch up to it even if some dude did a couple of videos on it.
there's the cinematics too that puts the game miles ahead of the others, i don't know why they ditched that but easy guess is expenses.

Sims 2 due to attention to details and little secrets you can uncover, secret quests and area and event.

I wouldn't even want to include Sims 4 as belonging to 1-3. It bloated to become its own thing that isn't very The Sims

Many are going to say The Sims 2, and with good reason, but I'd like to nominate The Sims 1. I like both games, had them both growing up, but these days, TS1 has me coming back far more than TS2. Not only the music the best it's ever been for the series, but it also has its fair share of secrets, Easter eggs, and attentions to detail that many praise TS2 for.

For example, did you know that there's a chance the arcade machines from the Vacation expansion will eat your Sims' quarters?

Or how about getting a drink thrown at you over unsolicited advances at the bar?

Or how about getting completely plastered to the point that you throw up?

A leaker has published the sales numbers for The Sims 3's Expansion Packs, and most of The Sims 4's ones. / Archive

Star Wars: Journey to Batuu - 2.1 Million Units
Dream Home Decorator - 600 Thousand Units
My Wedding Stories - 750 Thousand Units
Werewolves - 800 Thousand Units

Some thoughts about these numbers:
  • As expected, weather, university, and pet Expansions are all sure sellers.
  • High School, as expected, isn't fun enough of a concept to make into an Expansion Pack, even with devs being clearly obsessed with it enough to make it.
  • Dine Out is STILL a buggy mess even a decade later, yet still sold tons for a Game Pack.
  • How the fuck that Journey to Batuu sell that much?
  • How much of My Wedding Stories's low sales was due to the #WeddingsForRussia controversy and the pack being completely broken on launch?
  • Life & Death was a well-received Expansion due to it being a unique take on the game, even with the usual recycling of content.
  • People probably already know it, but the EP sales were why EA made more and more DLCs for TS4 going to over a decade in the game's lifespan.

Star Wars was hot shit during that time, not the shallow shell it is now; remember all the tv series about it?

Batuu's only redeeming trait is some industrial-"cyberpunk" looking objects, and mods do that better anyway. I'm surprised there's no Cyberpunk DLC. Maybe it's too much of a dystopia for the current devs and their utopic vision.

Sims 1 is the OG and can run on anything if you ever need to scratch the itch. Didn't know all the extras from above about Sims 2, but I really, really miss the way that TS2 did completely custom apartments. 3 and 4 just really missed what should be an easy concept.
