Yellow eyeshadow doesn't look good on anyone though. And those brows are awful. I think this person just sucks at making pretty sims, even though there's an endless sea of cosmetic content available to download.

Semi-related to The Sims and its mod community. The Sims Online was revived by fans a little over a year ago and over that time they've gotten the game to a very good state.

It's all free, EA seems to not care that much (the already got a C&D but were allowed to continue), and there are always a few people online. That's the key.
Make a character and go chill out on one of the full properties if you can find one. Grab some popcorn and just watch. You'll see Internet Drama play out before your eyes for free. If any of you remember the original TSO or have experience with Second Life, you know what to expect.

There's so much salt about the change too. It's either "not enough" or people are salty that others are salty about the change.

Can confirm. When FreeSO was doing their awards shows, which awarded awards to best lots and sims. During this, apparently Harry Potter threw a meltdown about not winning, to which everyone in the FreeSO community talked about for a few weeks.
One thing to keep in mind though. Either make a new sim, or make it so generic people won't remember you. This game community is very small, and people tend to remember each other.

Word is going out that several Sims 4 staff members have been laid off, with EA trying to focus on the Mobile version of the game, which is also not doing well at the moment.

Also, one person who claims to have worked on the game stated on Reddit that EA has not even started development of The Sims 5, even though The Sims 4 will turn 4 this year, although it hasn't been verified, so consider this as a rumor.
The wording of this tweet from Daniel Hiatt, one of the devs that has worked on The Sims franchise from the beginning, also hints that he was laid off or fired, and did not leave out of mutual agreement. It's a stark contrast to Hearthstone staff member Ben Brode's statement about stepping down and leaving Blizzard to work on a new project.
And EA is in clear damage control mode, with moderators locking down any topics on the official forums that refer to the recent layoffs.

I feel so sorry for the fans who think mods can "save the game". I like sims 4 and if I want fun I'd rather get the game packs than their "realistic" uncanny valley avatars with glicthy codes around them.
And also I remember lummiasims, he's a very sensitive idiot and always shittalk to people if they don't want mods or giving criticism about the mods. And also has a huge hate boner with the Sims 4 and EA, despite buying the games anyway.

If I'm not mistaken this is the Sims player that used this photoshop filter to wash out her photos and make the colours more pastel. But obviously since it was a filter applied to the whole image, it also did this to sim's skin colours, including a picture of a black sim that she had made. The black sim looked kinda ashy and grey with this filter, which set off this whole thing. Needless to say, the simmer tried to appease the callout brigade who simply doubled down and are insisting that using her photoshop filter is as bad as actual IRL racism.
I'll try and find the image, since I've definitely seen it before but totally forgot where from.

2. The sim has hair converted from preteen circus ring chat client/"game" IMVU. They don't convert well and will kill a common computer over their polycount. There's babyhair/a hairline on the sim as well to make up for the fact that the IMVU conversion is terrible.
5. The Sims 2 for the DS was a big departure from the main games. Interactions were quicktime events, you manage a hotel, and you fight crime while taking down a cow-based cult. From what I remember, it was pretty charming 10+ years ago.
10. If your sims aren't nonbinary POC strong womyn with vitiligo and who dress like a clown locked in Hot Topic, you are a shitlord.

13. Leosims is a known converter of things that are actually copywritten, like Second Life models. She puts them behind a Patreon account (EA does not allow this) and lazily recolors the meshes. However, the meshes end up extremely high poly, and can overwhelm most computers. Leosims is also the main suspect in driving a woman (Emma's Simposium) off the internet for good by hiring a private investigator to dox her and her family. 14 is about that. No, seriously
15. People call this guy, Lumia, a pedo a lot. I know nothing else besides he's gay and people hate him.
20. Basemental Drugs is, as the name implies, a drug mod. I looked at it once and it's creepily intricate. Wicked Whims is the sexual version of Basemental Drugs (or vice versa). I've heard people say it's animated more fluidly than the game itself. Both mods have Patreons connected to them and rake in a nice chunk of cash monthly.
The sulsulpastelsims blog is someone whining about that pastelsims person saying white people can be oppressed and getting yelled at by the #woke players. Despite all sassy gifs she was served, she didn't back down. She has a bunch of socks, but people can figure out it's her quickly.

as someone who still plays ts3/has a shitload of cosmetic/CAS mods (i dont ever touch ts4, especially because ea's money-grubbing hands) i am honestly not suprised at what hell is unfolding in the modding community, especially with all those stupid fucking teen pregnancy challenges on youtube i keep seeing

That secret is especially stupid as there is a color wheel in the sims 3. I made tons of decent makeup looks for black sims in that game. Unless I'm misremembering you can also change the color of CC makeup. I haven't played the game in years.
