and the incest one i believe was a part of the wicked whims thing anyway

also, the sims team announced a first person mode. i can only imagine the creativity that is wicked whims that will ensue

A game made to be viewed in third person being played in first person is gonna be full of weird looking errors, as things are seen from angles and distances they were never meant to.

This shit is why I stick to Sim City.

You can't really be overly perverted with buildings and shit (even if you put forward strip clubs you can legit claim they're a part of real cities)

Looking back this comment is particular hilarious considering the plural dragon-kin building fetishist that works (worked?) for Google.

Apparently a simmer made "Simmy Awards" and Black Simblr and other "oppressed" simmers were not happy.
Said simmer grovelled and gave into the demands and the community manager rambled about "emotional labor" and "tone policing"

Grant Rodiek has been whipping up a storm of verbal diarrhea regarding The Sims recently. Here's his response to a Simmer that asked if Casinos would be added to TS4:

Tweet link. (Tweetsave isn't working for me right now for some reason) He conveniently forgot that gambling items were in past Sims games, i.e. the downloadable slot machine in TS1, the poker table in TS2, and the slot machines and Gambling skill in TS3. That's also a trend that Grant, along with most of the TS4 staff have, is that they choose to ignore the positive aspects of past Sims games, even ignoring the fact that some items that they won't add to TS4 for various reasons, i.e. "it's too hard and expensive to add to the game", while those items were in past Sims games. Sometimes, they even escalate to trashing the past Sims games directly.

And it gets even worse, when he starts lashing out at someone just because he wanted toilet stalls in TS4:

Ditto.

The sad thing about this is that some people actually agree with the verbal diarrhea that Grant spews out. And the whole deal about his pinned tweet about not being able to discuss about features that aren't out for the game is just as unsettling, as while NDAs do exist, it's a stark change to past Sims games, where they would tease the next Expansion Pack or even a new game in either video form or even on the CD cases, i.e. my Sims 2 University CD case having a teaser for the Nightlife Expansion Pack that would follow it, and SimCity 3000 even had a teaser video for The Sims 1, I think. The way that Grant says that makes it look too obvious that he is trying to adhere to NDAs, and says stuff in ways that piss the community off.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly happened with SimCity 2013?
Tl;DR
A game that had a lot of potential that was chained to an always online network (before that requirement was patched out at the end of the game's life cycle) that had poor run times and players being forced to build cities in maps too small for city building.

Notice all the dead space that players were not allowed to build in to create the look of a sprawling metropolis.
