The Skeptic Community - Pseudo-intellectuals ranting on Youtube

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Is this guy seriously mad that people won't subscribe to a singular ideology? Correct me if I'm wrong; I watched like half the video but his voice is really jarring so I stopped for my sanity.

I swear the only people I see complain about this are the people who are mad that someone won't say they fully agree with a singular ideology. Like we get it, they're not "fully" on your side and they don't agree with everything you say and follow it like gospel, calm down. It really isn't that deep. They just have thoughts different to yours, and I sincerely doubt they're doing it to spite you and/or your political leanings.
Any one who says they are a centerist is admitting they realize both sides are horrid for them but lack the ability to come up or articulate a position outside of the dictomony offered. "Centerists" instinctively feel both left and right are both turds that just come as different colors but can't figure out how to explain why they feel that why.

It's not really left vs right.

It's actually between people who score high on the integratively complex scale vs those who score low on said scale.

Here is a video explaining it:

In short it it about people who can understand problems from many views and nuance vs those who can't.

If you want more works explaining how both are the same I suggest the following authors and works:
In Praise of Doubt: How to Have Convictions Without Becoming a Fanatic by Peter Burger
Eric Hoffers True Believer.
the lucifer principle by Howard Bloom.

Other books you can try are:
Expert Political Judgment by Philip Tetlock The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver
The Three Languages of Politics by Arnold Kling
Twilight of the Elites by Chris Hayes
Them by Jon Ronson
The big sort by Houghton mifflin

Grand Illusion the myth of voter choice
By theresa amato

Free lunch by David cay Johnson

All these works talk about the difference between a fanatic vs the moderate.

Now my personal view?

If you hate both side equally then go make a new idea that transcend the left vs right dictomony.

That what I am doing. No one says you have to pick one of two bad options. If you are not happy what's on the market go make something you do like. If you can't make a new one then go shop for one you do like.

Well to be fair, you have to be high on the integratively complex scale to understand politics. The rhetoric is extremely nuanced, and without a solid grasp of theoretical politics most of the rhetoric will go over a typical layman's head. There's also Sargon's classical libertarian outlook, which is deftly woven into his identity- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Socrates' lectures, for instance. The students understand this stuff; they have the philosophical capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these observations, to realize they're not just intelligent- they say something enlightened about POLICY. As a consequence people who disagree with the integratively complex scale truly ARE imbeciles- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the insights in the importance of the skeptic's core tenant "to be rational", which itself is an elevated statement on the current geo-political landscape. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those irrational plebeians scratching their heads in befuddlement as Sargon of Akkad's enlightenment unfolds itself on their tablets. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have an Aristotle tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate they're within 5 complex scale points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Found a salty dude who is probably a "skeptic", I think this belongs here but I don't know. Didn't feel right to put in on the incels thread, so here we are.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwHENAJcXpE

Buzzword usage: redpill, marxist, anti-family, brainwashed, cult, alpha male, "protesting straight men who are attracted to them", "bluepilled beta males", "cultural marxist movement", "degeneracy"

as well as choice edgy quotes like: "turning women into mental patients when they adopt feminism", "devolve into pink haired, black rimmed glasses wearing, starbucks addicted weirdos" and "if you're looking for political correctness this is the wrong channel for you."

The video is essentially taking random pictures from an article, and slapping the "before and after liberal ideologies" on them. The best thing about this is there's no sources on who is in the pictures, no actual proof any of the women pictured in the video are liberal or conservative (apart from the one holding a commie symbol), but y'know, they have bright hair and don't look like how a woman is "supposed to look", like muh bible says, she must be a liberal! TOTALLY NOT A STEREOTYPE, even though I won't say how I 100% know for certain these people are liberals and they could be anyone with any political leanings.

I know the pictures are from a return of kings album (which was mentioned but wasn't linked in the description so here you go: http://www.returnofkings.com/114644/27-attractive-girls-who-became-ugly-freaks-because-of-feminism ) , however they don't have sources on individual pictures, just the bottom... 8ch and age of shitlords must be such reputable sites (again, no direct links I see, so i don't know if the sources are even real) Return of kings is not stating how they know for sure these people are feminists other than the stereotype of modern feminists. The celebrities and singular youtuber pictured are the only exception, however I don't know them or if they really are liberals as i've never heard of them. A little bit of information would be handy so they don't look like they're just salty women don't look how they want them to anymore.

In all honesty, it's kinda funny. "some women don't want to look feminine (femininity being what I personally find attractive), so therefore they're ruined because of feminism, i mean, they totally shouldn't do what they want to do in terms of appearance, they should bend to my standards!". Such a mad world we live in, eh? God forbid, women doing what they want!

Also bonus points for "I don't care about feelings, I care about facts", yet the entire video was about his feelings on how a woman should behave.

Recently, Theryn Meyer stepped out of the hive mind and gave a not so kosher opinion on respecting non-binary people, and that corner of the internet went a bit batshit.
The general gist of the video is "we've been letting a few experiences with nonbinary people define all nonbinary people in our minds, and maybe we shouldn't generalise" as far as i know. Of course, people are unsubscribing, "you're bluepilled" and a healthy dose of people with a mentality that is essentially: "you can speak as long as you agree with me".

"I think I'm real" is proving her point a bit. "As noble as Theryn is being, equating nonbinary identity to transgender existence, is lending undue credits to a political statement about gender". That being the broad assumption of nonbinary people identifying as such for political reasons because of the very loud minority doing so. From my experience, only one of the fair few nonbinary people I know personally is doing it for political reasons. Making that assumption about other groups (as Theryn said) would be asinine and wrong.

I'd type out more on these two other videos but i can't be assed and i've got a lot to do today.
Those are the only ones I can find at the moment.

Armored Skeptic is also giving his thoughts.

If I were one of these people, I would totally stick my hand in the fire every now and again just to piss people off and watch the nuclear disaster at a distance with popcorn handy, preferably with the hand that is not burned. I would just post a video with an unpopular opinion to rile everybody up, leave it at that, never acknowledge it afterwords, no apology, no doubling down, just an occasional "fuck you", and it would be different every time.

You can only expect that from open TERFs, who are kinda crazy, but you gotta have some bolts off toact like that and have your face in the open. People usually mention Metokur for this no shits given attitude but, well, the guy is anonymous. (for various good reasons, I don't blame him)

In the end the best way to handle 'culture wars' is let me live I'll let you live. But God knows you can't make clickbait videos out of that

Theryn Meyer is also thinks not wanting to date troons = phobia. He is such an entitled assole.

https://mobile.twitter.com/TheTherynMeyer/status/966460170371973120

If you're a cis girl, and you swiped right on my profile w/out reading my bio, and you aren't comfortable dating me b/c I'm trans, that's 100% okay. Might your preference be motivated by transphobia? Maybe I guess, but innocent until proven guilty. So I'm gonna assume it's not.

It doesn't matter how much troons try to sugarcoat their bullshit. It always boils down to: Not dating troons = transphobia.

^Do these retards just assume that if someone doesn't want to date them it's because they're trans? There are multiple reasons why someone may not want to date you that having nothing to do with you being trans. Like maybe girls don't like you because you look plastic af and that's not attractive to them? Just a thought.

When being trans is the only relevant fact about you, OF COURSE that's the reason. Literally every decision in life comes down to trans or cis.

If you ever find yourself unsure of what to do, ask "WWTD"? What Would a Tranny Do?

Even if it is the only reason, then that shouldn't be an issue. Some people just don't like dick (or pussy) and would probably not want to date someone with a dick, even if said person with a dick is refered to, and looks like a she.
I've pointed out a few times that if a gay guy doesn't want to fuck me because of the parts I have, I don't get all up in my feelings about it. Because most gay men like dick? It's not hard to understand.

Seriously....
