The Square Enix Griefing Thread

So I should skip Collection of SaGa. But I should consider Romancing SaGa 2? What are the Frontier games?

Maybe I'll just get the Grandia HD thing and replay those instead. Well... except Grandia 3.

Grandia HD only comes with Grandia 1 and 2.

I'd say you'd probably have a better time going with the Mana games over Saga. Saga as a series has always been weird in how they balance shit and the logic behind it. Later games like Unlimited Saga are a mess. Both games share an origin where their initial installments were labeled as Final Fantasy spinoffs.

Ohhh... I already played those. I didn't play that new remake though. Heard it was good.

I never noticed the graphical bugs in the SaGa Remaster that you mention but I believe you. I didn't get that far, just did a ton of grinding at biolab to get OP monsters. A lot of the QoL features they added made the game way easier too, like being able to escape from almost any battle.

Still, at least they added extra content with the Fuse stuff. The Legend Of Mana remaster is highway robbery at 30$. Runs worse than the original psx game or an emulator and arguably looks worse too.
Go to the Yorkland field where you recruit Thunder and walk around on the bottom-left of the screen, just before where Lute's house is.

Every year grows a little darker when they fail to announce Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist.

Square Enix managed to make a 5 year streak by releasing shitty games absolutely no one asked for:

Excited for what 2023 will bring us.

Man, what happened there with Babylon's Fall?

Steam reviews for Babylon's Fall say it's a big cashgrab that seems like it should have been free-to-play. One guy mentioned the game having only like 600 players online, a tiny number for a new online multiplayer game, and someone else even compared it to Star Wars Battlefront 2. Here's an archive. Lots of bad reviews, but lots of clearly shill ones too.

Balan Underworld was a bigger joke, holy shit Yuji Naka.
He aimed for that 'hyper-casual' audience, and pleased nobody.:story:

I greatly dislike Naka, not just because of his association with Sonic, but because he seems like such an arrogant dick. Promoted way beyond his field of competence. Peter Moore famously called him an asshole. (Moore stated that Sonic had begun to lose his edge, and advocated for mature-skewing titles. Naka told him to keep making platformers with childlike vibes.)
Romancing Saga 2 is great but good luck trying to beat it.
My favorite Kawazu quote:
"I'm aware that the games I've made have never been, you know . . . good."
From a 2005 Famitsu interview. I think he was supposed to be promoting Minstrel Song.

He knows exactly what he's done. He'll kick your arse so hard, you'll kiss the moons.

jesus fucking christ its so sad to see babylons fall that fucking low.

It doesn’t help that Elden Ring was released a week before Babylon’s fall
That didn't put a damper on Horizon, both Horizon and Elden Ring have had similar concurrent player numbers well after elden ring released. Not only that Horizon also triggered a resurgence in the original game which seems to be getting as much activity on average as a new release does..

Square Enix went full retard with micro transactions for console games, and I think they're getting very badly burned by them because this is the second time this has happened.
