Well to be honest with you, I'd just give you a DVD-R containing roms of all the first six FF games, because I wouldn't wanna condone anyone giving Square Enix money, let alone money for worse versions of FF games than previous rereleases (except 3). But, it's your money, and your shelf space. Wasn't that cartridge something like $80 to begin with?

Thanks for the link and the information! I appreciate it.

I have various variations of FF 1-6 (the FF Advance 1/2 double pack and FF 4 Advance, the 3D version of FF3 and the PS re-issue of FF 5-6). But FF 5 has a garbage translation and I missed out on buying FF Advance 5-6 back when they were released. My main notion is to have all six of them on one cart and the extra features the console versions of the Pixel versions of 2-3, since FF2 was always a bitch to play due to how they made that game's experience point system.
 
Don't know if this got brought up in the down time but it looks like a battle system "update" isn't the only thing changing in the next DQ.. It came out a few weeks ago that they are going after a "more mature" style of game. Whether that means no fanservice or sexy, "realism" or edgy grim-dark bullshit.. or all of the above, it's not yet clear... but ugh either way! *pukes*

Selling 3 million units or whatever should not be a loss, something has clearly gone terribly wrong at Square though I guess that has been the case for a long fucking time.

FF16 is fun but if they wanted mainstream goyslop numbers they should have pulled the trigger on making it open world. That's the only thing mainstream consumers buy these days.

I also have no idea why it is PS5 exclusive, of course it didn't sell that much, it's on 1 out of 3 major platforms.

Meh, I think DQ could stand a bit more seriousness. Not a lot, not like what they did to FF, but think Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z, like that kind of shift.

If they ugly up the girls and put them in burqas, and turn it into an edgy action game then it's RIP.

The tone is just fine. You had real heartfelt moments in the last game along with puff puff. There's a good balance.

DQ was always a little cartoonier anyway

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I wouldn't mind the Z treatment either. And if they wanted to modernize the combat, the much maligned FFX-2 actually had great, fast combat they could copy (I have no idea why they never went with that kind of ATB system again).

But I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it, especially these days.

I prefer them to fuck around and find out with FF and get the sales and praise for DQ. Don't change a thing and let the action faggots praising how FF is "modernised" seethe and dilate.

Well, there's the original female warrior art is just bikini armour. Even in MonHun, female Anjanath armour set seems to be inspired by that.
And spin off Dragon Quest Heroes 2 has Desdemona, more or less armour looks similar to DQ9 art.
