Still the greatest comedy troupe of all time. Any short where it's main 3 (and Shemp) is a masterclass in slapstick comedy. The movie was good and the actors portrayed the roles perfectly. It's a shame they added so much contemporary 2012 bullshit like Jersey Shore that prevents it from being timeless.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the museum run by Larry Fine's relatives. It's called the Stoogeum and has an enormous amount of props used in the shorts

Also, no one does a better Larry impression than Billy West. Pitch perfect

I watched the Stooges when I was so young, I can't remember any stories, plot points or one-liners. I just have fuzzy memories of Curly's voice and some of the best slapstick committed to celluloid. This might be why I have a soft spot for the 2012 movie

Where to get or view the Stooges short films? I know there are a few on youtube, but it feels like skimming the surface.

MGM has uploaded a few episodes of the Addams family for free on YouTube if anyone's interested.

As far as Munsters stuff go they have a channel but have only uploaded clips I did find one made for TV movie The Munster's Revenge made 20 years after the original show and 7 before "The Munsters Today."

If you have access to the antenna station MeTV I believe they run some Stooges on Saturday evenings around dinnertime.

Apparently when I was about three or four years old, I was sitting on the couch watching TV with my dad and a Three Stooges short came on. As he tells it, I leapt off the couch, scrambled up the stairs, and yelled out to my brother "THREE STOOGES IS ON! AND IT'S A CURLY!"

That's when he knew that I would turn out alright.

Shemp niggas rise up. We need to watch some of this good shit on movie night.

The thing that trips me out is that they ported the NES game to the PS1 and GBA. I can't even begin to understand the logic of it.

It was originally a PC game (Amiga, Atari ST etc) that was ported over to the NES. The GBA and PS1 versions are much closer to the original Amiga version, yet somehow, still not as good.

A lot of people that don't know about the 2000 TV movie that was produced by Mel Gibson. It casts the stooges' lives in a more negative life and the Moe estate hates the shit out of it.

Can't blame them, the movie plays pretty loose with the facts of their career. Naturally, many movies of this type do the same thing. I'd have to go back and watch it again, but my impressions of it at the time was that their twisting of the facts were pretty egregious, based on biographies of the Stooges I had read up to that point.

I saw the actor who played Stimpy on Ren and Stimpy on Conan ages ago and said he based the voice on Larry Fine. So remember, Stimpy is really a depressed old Jew.
Billy West. I linked a clip of him above doing a sketch of Larry Fine at Woodstock. Guy is a complete legend, He's done so much work in the voice acting industry it's unbelievable.

My mom hated the Stooges and told me not to watch them as a kid. I discovered them late in life by watching their stuff on MeTV. I like them a lot, but they seem to show the same few over and over. Also, some of the shorts seem to be edited to crap and don't make any sense.

AVGN said that some of the shorts are very politically incorrect. I'm curious to know what he's talking about because most of the stuff I've seen isn't like that. Are there "banned" shorts that aren't shown on TV?

MeTV features most of the Stooges shorts. Sadly your best chance to watch all of them is via torrents.

He also does a good Moe and Curly impression too. I remember him using his Stooges impressions in an episode of the 90s Batman series where he played three Joker henchmen fittingly called Moe, Lar and Cur.

Shemp deserved better. He was one of the original stooges (that often gets forgotten, as everyone remembers Moe, Larry, and Curly.), who went on to do bigger and better things, so to speak... Yet he still came back for his brother and friend when they needed him to keep the act going (after his brother Curly died.) He's got my vote.

Shemp is one of my favorite stooges. But then again he and curly have a special spot in the stooges hearts. But it's nice to see some good clean comedy.

I came across this the other day and almost forgot about it. I thought I dreamt it but I guess it was for reruns

Didn't they do a similar treatment for the old theatrical shorts?

Boobs In Arms is my favorite Stooges short. I haven't seen it in 20 years, but I still remember many bits from that one like it was only yesterday that I last saw it. The guy who mistakes the Stooges as making movies on his wife turns out to be the drill sergeant, Curly ending up in the bayonet dummy, the gag with the spiked German helmet, the laughing gas bomb, etc. All pure GOLD!
